CIA director John Brennan arrived in Israel Thursday evening and held consultations on the situation in Syria, amid fears that Israel could get drawn into the fighting there.
Upon landing in the country, Brennan, whose visit was not announced ahead of time, went directly to the armys headquarters in Tel Aviv for a meeting with Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon, Channel 10 reported. During the meeting, the two shared intelligence assessments, and Yaalon reiterated Israels refusal to let advanced weapons make their way from Syria to Hezbollah, vowing to continue carrying out strikes against arms shipments.
According to Israel Radio, the two also discussed Irans nuclear program and other regional threats.
Twice this month, Israel carried out air attacks in the Damascus area to blow up Fateh-110 ground-to-ground missile consignments en route to Hezbollah via Syria from Iran.
The meeting followed on the heels of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahus recent visit to Russia, during which he met with President Vladimir Putin and told him that Moscows sale of the S-300 missile defense system to Syrian President Bashar Assad could push the Middle East into war.
Russias Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, evidently unmoved by the dramatic Israeli warning, declared on Thursday that while Moscow was not signing any new deals, it would honor existing contracts with Syria, including for the transfer of the S-300 air-defense systems. Weve already carried out some of the deal, Lavrov said, and we will carry the rest of it out in full.

Hopefully, he didn’t miss the call to prayer.
LOL. My thoughts exactly.
"I'll convince Israel that their extermination
will only be a 'workplace accident'."
Oh merde. There goes the country!
The Obama scandals ought not to distract from what is happening in the Mideast. Recently Netanyahu has been weakened by a poor election showing for Likud and by some luxury spending on his plane. His term if office maybe coming to an end within months. This is important because Netanyahu is rightly obsessed with Iran potentially obtaining nuclear weapons. He would consider himself an abject failure, if the Iranian threat was not dealt with definitively during his tenure. That means an Israeli attack is a real possibility if not a likelihood. Our big blue water ships operating in the narrow confines of the Persian Gulf in the sights of Iran’s sophisticated Chinese supplied shore to ship missiles are at grave risk. Sadly the Obama scandals are part of this explosive equation. If Obama is very hard pressed over the next few months, there is nothing like a shooting war to defer attention.

Would have LOVED to hear THAT ‘conversation’.
Perhaps he’s got to gather some info for the jihadists he really works for. Thanks haffast.
