You could eat them raw if you don't mind the taste of raw mushrooms. Put them in a salad or something. Quickly sauteing them as in a stir fry probably wouldn't hurt their properties. I don't know for sure that any cooking would, just staying on the safe side.

I went to a whole foods store to get some for a friend and they let me look through a couple of cases of them to find the smallest ones. That wasn't easy because they seem to prefer the biggest ones possible for the market.

My teacher told me about this. Many years ago he was getting an employment-based physical and the doc told him he had to get his cholesterol down. Instead of taking some Rx meds he asked the doc to give him 30 days to get it down himself. Did the shitake thing and amazed the doc with dramatically lowered numbers.

‘____________to get more people on statins.’

Seems I’ve heard similar.
Shenanigans abound everywhere - - -

This thread has lots of good info - we all have our favorite supplements and things we’ve tried, in the ‘natural’ world, before ingesting prescription drugs.
In a life and death situation, prescriptions yes, and when the crisis is over, back to ‘natural’ ways...

Recently, I thought if one could take just one supplement, or were to ask me, I would suggest Cod Liver Oil, with Lemon. Daily.
I can crave that stuff, which in itself may be a sign of the body needing/lacking something . . . off for some right now!

I agree. I’d rather try a natural supplement first. You can always do a little research.

Thanks for thread neverdem and everyone else for your input.

The best diets (as far as effective) always appear to be the weirdest. Thinking of Macro biotic healing or maintaince varieties

I have been hearing good things about the red yeast rice but now the comment that govt is once again “helping”. So, need to check some more on the product and accessibility

The answer to inflammation? I don’t know. I haven’t found any great ideas beyond the normal aspirin, exercise, and Omega 3. Also, if anyone does take statin drugs they absolutely need to supplement with CO Q10. Statins deplete it.
