Gov. Brown, veto the gun bills on your desk

Re: Veto Recommendations regarding "gun" legislation.

Dear Governor Brown:

As I have said previously, a government that does not protect us and will not let us protect ourselves does not deserve our respect or loyalty.

The U-T San Diego newspaper reports a series of "gun" bills is headed to you for consideration.

Sadly the State of California is presently violating its primary constitutional duty which is to protect the public from domestic threats such as criminal activity.

In the 1980s, the legislature responded to the enormously high crime rate by "right sizing" the state prison system and making some overdue changes in the criminal law.

As a result, the crime rate markedly declined beyond all expectations of liberal academics.

Sadly, later legislatures, gulled by the siren song of misplaced benevolence apparently felt bad that criminals were in prison.

So they neglected to build a system that kept pace with the rapid population growth jamming thousands into an under-built system thereby inviting Federal Court intervention to everyone's shame.

The cold hard fact is: Crime is committed by criminals.

From the beginning of time, a small percentage of our youthful (mostly) males have been created sociopaths worthy of jail, probation, state prison, parole, or mental health treatment.

I applaud you for the state belatedly attempting to stand up against the Federalization of our prison system and their operation by unqualified (and mal-motivated) Federal judges.

However, the fact is that the crime rate is reemerging and thousands of innocent people who were previously protected from the criminal class will now be again victimized all thanks to the idiotic policies of the state legislatures.

The letter is a good summation of the deluge of anti-freedom laws sent to the governor by the California legislature.

No chance whtsoever that the Head of the California Praesidium will veto.

The Citizen Proles of The State better get used to the idea that they are no longer living in a Republic, but, rather, a People’s Dictatorship.

More bad news: after years of wrangling, "microprinting" of firearm firing pins started yesterday for California.

:-(

Well, I think it's bad news—later, the courts and the newspapers will have conniption-fits over the "unexpected" legal ramifications.

Hate to be pessimestic, but he will sign most of those gun bills, no matter how ridiculous.

California has been the communists capital of America for years. Democrats are hard core communists.

Baby Bro emailed from San Diego. There’s a 10% ammo tax in the offing along with all this other stuff, and he’s a competitive shooter who won’t have anything legal left to shoot. He’s looking for work elsewhere after all these years, and if you knew how much he loves the place you’ll get an idea of just how bad it’s really getting.

Here is my email to my assembly member:

Dear Assemblymember Weber

I’m writing to express my opposition to the anti-2nd amendment bills currently being considered in the house and senate.

I’m opposed to assembly bills 48, 187, and 760. These bills will raise taxes and reduce the availability of ammunition to California citizens. This will reduce the ability to train with firearms, hunt, target shoot, protect my family, and otherwise infringe on my 2nd amendment rights as guaranteed in the U.S. Bill of Rights.

I’m opposed to AB231 to further restrict firearm storage in my own home.

There is no reason for these misguided bills since firearm crimes have not increased, but have decreased steadily for many years, while gun availability has risen significantly. The implementation costs are also not affordable to a cash strapped, overtaxed, and financially declining state. As with all these anti-bill of rights laws, you are penalizing law abiding Americans and creating criminals where there were none. Meanwhile violent criminals and gangs that commit gun crimes are emboldened and unaffected by the laws.

Thanks for your consideration
