The 7 States That The Rest Of America Would Like To Kick Out Of the Country

An AskReddit thread yesterday polled Americans about which state they would remove from the union.

The answers were diverse and had a number of thought processes behind them — which states had the least people, which states contributed least to the country, which could survive on their own, and which state was Mississippi — and in the end a lot of people made a lot of sense.

Here are the states most Americans would love to see go:

7. Delaware.

First in, first out. Redditors alleged there's not much important there.

However, "Lots of companies are incorporated there. Sure, they could just move to another tax haven, but it would be a rough transition and they would lose out on the decades of case law that the state has on the subject of corporations.

6. Florida

This is most likely the result of the adventures of Florida Man and a desire to make elections easier.

Georgians spoke out in its defense as a functional Hurricane-shield.

5. Rhode Island

Rhode Island's departure would offend a minimal amount of people and shed a minimal amount of space.

"I had a professor in college from there and said that milkshakes are referred to as "cabinets." Who the hell does that?" Williston, North Dakota

3-4 (TIE). Either Dakota

One work-around solution was to combine North and South Dakota into a single Super Dakota.

While some Americans actually doubted the existence of North Dakota and proposed to strike it anyway, others pointed out that its absence would be noted

I wish they would kick out the state I currently reside in: Minnesota. I can’t wait for my girls to be older so I can leave for a state that doesn’t bleed my dry while supporting sodomy.

The thing about North Dakota is that you’re not absolutely certain it exists even when you’re driving through it.

We think the rest of you should leave the country (but still send your tax dollars by way of Our Father who art in Washington...)

Would that be California, Washington, Oregon, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Maryland?

How about the ones who cause the most problems for everyone else by sucking up the most money and/or electing the biggest idiots: California, Illinois, New York, Maryland, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Connecticut

Give West Camden (aka Philadelphia) to New Jersey, then kick the PRNJ out of the country.

others pointed out that [North Dakota's] absence would be noted by a marked increase in your natural gas bills.

North Dakota is not yet a significant exporter of natural gas. Shale oil, yes, but not gas. We also don't have many nuclear weapons left as most silos are empty. I guess it doesn't take much to be a writer for Business Insider.

My list: California, New York, Illinois, Michigan (Not the Upper Peninsula), Massachusetts, New Jersey and Connecticut.

As a “bonus” Washington DC.

ALL the New England states, New York, New Jersey, California would work for me...these states are a cancer upon America which spreads across the rest of us...a combo of cities and states might work better:

ALL of New England, New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, St. Louis...send them to another dimension, Mars, whatever.

We don’t have to bother trying to resurrect the Confederacy..we can just get the SEC states to secede...the BigTen and Pac-12 states wouldn’t object...heck we can run a presidential ticket of Mike Slive and Paul Feinbaum..

The top four states which a typical Democrat would like to expell from the Union:

Guam

It's almost tipping over as it is, and if only a few thousand more servicemen are stationed there, it will probably capsize completely.

North Montana

Too many rednecks.

Saskatchewan

Ditto

Ohiowa

Just more "fly-over country." Getting rid of it would shorten flight times between L.A. and NY by at least an hour.

Regards,
