Prosperity by decree.

Inflation by decree, or so they hope.

In Completely-Unrelated News From The Future: Dateline 2017; California’s economic woes deepened further, according to the latest data. The slide, which was already underway in 2013, steepened over the next 3 years, and is now among the worst in the US. Economists are mystified as to why the ever-fewer remaining businesses in California continue to search for ways out of the state.
Particularly hard-hit are low-income earners. Despite one of the highest minimum wages in the country, fewer and fewer jobs are available, and ever fewer of those go to unskilled workers or those just entering the workforce.
The one bright spot among all the economic news is that union wages continue to climb, with California unions paying some of the highest wages anywhere.

From the article..
You cant legislate on your hopes,” said Assemblyman Donald Wagner (R-Irvine). “You have to legislate in the real world. Youre not doing it if you support this bill.
Isn’t that how the left legislates on any issue?

The minimum wage is an idea straight from Karl Marx and Big Labor...as if there’s any difference between them. Abolish the minimum wage and apply the RICO laws to end the evil scourge of unions and watch prosperity return to America.

As if there are not enough “at risk” homeboys unable to get a job already.
Unions will do well, however.

Rush is right. If they were really compassionate, they would raise the minimum wage to $100/hr. Since raising the minimum wage has no negative impact, raising it to $100/hr will make everyone wealthy with no harm done!

Because without the Government nobody has dignity or gets any respect.
Consider yourself lucky that the Government affords you CA residents this offering.
Because what they give you they can take away, like your dignity and any respect.

Liberal fantasy:
Higher wages ---> higher payroll taxes to the state
Higher wages ---> higher product prices ---> more sales tax to the state
Reality:
Higher wages ---> more people laid off ----> more public assistance
Higher wages ---> higher prices ---> less sales ---> less sales tax collected

Pikers. They should triple the minimum wage to $30 per hour. It isn't fare that all the illegals (not on welfare) can't be paid a “living wage”/sarc
Of course, the CA Assembly rocket scientists might just trigger a mass exodus of businesses OUT of the state. Then the next thing would be the imposition of an “exit” tax on people or businesses fleeing the state.

They want to make sure they push the rest of the businesses out of the state. Not to worry! When all are gone the Hollywood crowd can support the takers!

higher wages would allow our families to provide for their children, pay their bills and give them dignity and respect Then why not a minimum wage of $15 or $20 per hour? That would give them even more dignity and respect.
