“The Lives of Others” is simply one of my fav movies. It shows what a tyrranical govt. can do to the people’s lives where there are no checks and balances. East Germany seems almost comically run, but the power the political class had over the non-political was very scary.
The twists in the story line were captivating. The non-political Stasi agent turnes out to be a hero. I’ll have to watch it again; I have purchased the DVD and have it at home.

If not, I suppose some would recommend just sending them back (joke), or, better yet, TELL THE TRUTH, and risk being removed from the lucrative and prestigious Supreme Court. - It’s nice to be important; but important AND nice to be HONEST. - Roberts had the most sheepish look on his face after that vote. - He’s presided over Obama butchering the oath of office (while blaming Roberts) the first time, then single-handedly rescuing Obamacare (which Obama will rename “Pelosicare” after the American people really “find out what’s in it”).
