I don't know how old Levin is but I'm a "boomer"...old enough to have had a draft card and young enough to remember the name of the woman whose signature was on it...Jeanette K Tice (I kid you not).Yes,it's my generation who's had a stranglehold on the Rat Party for the last 20 years...or more.Every filthy Rat whose name is in the paper today was born within a few years (either way) of the year in which I was born. They say that the WWII generation is "The Greatest Generation" and I fully agree with that but more than a few members of that generation did an absolutely abysmal job of raising their kids.

Ditto that.

My husband (we are in our early 50’s) speculates that maybe that generation was just exhausted after the Great Depression and WWII, for whatever reason, they wanted an easier life for their kids, and the values of their generation did not get passed on.

A big problem was the infiltration of the public school system.
If conservatives ever get power again we’ve got to DISMANTLE the public schools and figure out how to educate kids privately ( a lot of private school teachers went to public schools and universities, so even at “conservative” and Christian schools, prinicples of liberty are in general NOT being taught.

I also think the corruption of the evangelical church into “happy clappy super fun rock band mega-church” (as Ann Barnhardt calls it) had a lot to do with it.
If people are not taught to be God fearing, Bible believing and self governing, they will become morally corrupt, and they WILL end up ruled by tyrants.

Most of us can pinpoint the problems, but can we FIX things without all out civil war? I pray that we can....

During their early lives, the 'Greatest Generation' had experienced the Great Depression, WWII. An almost 17 years of deprivation, rationing, recycling, fear of the future, depression over one's daily existence. These experiences certainly exacted a toll on their psyches. Perhaps, shaped their future outlook.

Perhaps questioned...How if they ever survived, if their economy, their society ever 'returned' to their parents elevated status...they would certainly assure, promised their 'kids' would have a better life. A better secure future.

In the late 1940's, I surmise that this state of mind influenced the their child's upbringing, influenced their voting early 'socialist' agendas, their economic spending/consumption habits, their being more 'tolerant' of the 1940-1950-1960 society's changing values.
