BET has announced they will be airing a special entitled Justice for Trayvon: Our Son is Your Son on June 7. The half-hour special will feature exclusive interviews with key players of the trial, journalists and celebrity supporters, according to the Wall Street Journal. News journalist Emmett Miller will be hosting.
Last years death of 17 year-old Trayvon Martin sparked controversy over racial profiling and violence. Although he was unarmed, he was shot and killed by 28 year-old George Zimmerman, who was a self-appointed neighborhood watch volunteer according to CNN.
The official BET website reported Zimmerman was not a member of a registered neighborhood watch group, according to ABC News. He also violated basic neighborhood watch guidelines by carrying a weapon. Zimmerman claimed self-defense after shooting and killing Martin. Now, over a year later, the trial involving Zimmerman and Martin is still going on. Zimmerman is being accused of second-degree murder.
In addition to the racial profiling issue, this murder has also brought the Stand Your Ground laws to attention. Actor Jamie Foxx has voiced his concern over these laws to BET in an interview, stating, I think that rule or that law needs to be addressed
Thats a slippery slope for people to have that type of power. Justice for Trayvon will report the latest developments as well as all evidence involving the trial up to this point through engaging interviews with the attorneys, analysts and supporters, reports Indiewire.
Being black ?
Being in the wrong place at the wrong time ?
GZ is a hispanic racist ?
Trayvon confronted him and GZ just decided to shoot him ?
He wanted his Skittles ?
...or did he shoot him in self defense after having head pounded against the sidewalk and punched in the nose ?
Prepare for the riots when he is found no guilty...
The real deadline is “Death of young black male makes the news”
They won’t let go of slavery. With it they don’t have to acknowledge that their failures are self-inflicted.
Zimmerman will be found guilty; the judge will make sure of it. Good chance his conviction will be overturned on appeal, though even that’s not a sure thing. It’s for the collective good that he be found guilty, and we’re all about the collective, not justice (not saying that SHOULD be the case, just that it IS.)
It’s fairly pathetic how the “black community” gets all up in arms about any black person killed by a non-black person but all the thousands killed by other black people are just completely ignored.
I think this would drive me even more nuts if I were black.
But, even if I were black, I wouldn’t REALLY be black (according to some), because I’m 100% sure I’d still be a conservative.
I have meet some nice young black kids raised in two parent homes with good values. They work hard, study and are going places. The thug and baby mama culture fueled by the just us brothers and the racial grievance industry and fully supported by democrats and the republican establishment in the inner cities is destroying black kids. Their leaders love to point and say whitey’s fault get him! This distracts from the real problem which is black culture is toxic.
It wasn’t always so blacks had the highest marriage rates and the highest church attendance percentage in the nation. But once Uncle Sugar pushed the black dads out of the home and turned them from fathers and men to home boys it didn’t take long for those female headed households to raise little hood rats. When a kid gets around 14 years old you need a dad to keep him from going off the deep end.
Inferiority yielded slavery.
Those sold off were inferior to the African sellers
But this is Florida and I think the prosecutor over reached with the second degree murder charges to placate the race mongers and left it up to a jury to work out justice...
Jury selection is be the key...
There is no homogeneous black culture.
Although a minority of a minority, a solid conservative black population exists and raises it’s voice here.
But not a peep about the dozens and dozens of illegal gun owners who shoot children in drive-bys, or put a gun in the face of a months-old infant in a stroller and pull the trigger. Those children weren’t bearing anyone’s head into the sidewalk.
“They wont let go of slavery. With it they dont have to acknowledge that their failures are self-inflicted.”
That’s right, so they don’t even try. What hopeless people...
“I have meet some nice young black kids raised in two parent homes with good values. They work hard, study and are going places.”
We have some of them in my area, mostly from West Africa. They don’t give a hoot about Trayvon, and fear American blacks.
I suppose that’s why they’ve utterly silent about the toddlers, little schoolchildren, and even infants whomhave been murdered in evil drive-by shootings. One little infant in a stroller was actually targeted-the gunman stuck a gun in the face of of an infant and pulled the trigger. None of these innocents were beating someone’s head against cement.
It’s the evil they refuse to address in their community, except when they’re pointing the finger at whites, not the guns. Millions of responsible American gun owners will never pull the trigger against another human, and the few who do, it’s self-defense-as with Zimmerman.
Despise these hypocrites.
We’ve (America) been so quick to do eternal penance for the sins of our fathers, that now people forget that blacks in America were hardly unique in being an enslaved group throughout history. You’d think that slavery never occurred to any other people. American whites were unique in taking responsibility for it and ending it. I think we made a mistake by not making it clear that the Civil War and the shed blood of thousands of white men in that war paid that debt.
Black Entertainment Television advocating for black racial interests.
Dog bites man story.
If a person wanted to be brutally objective, a person might think that they know better than anyone that without the excuse of historical slavery (not unique to blacks in America), they would be anxious about having no excuse for not being a successful group globally. Other factors would have to be considered, but we dare not go there, oh no, just ask Richwine and Rushton.
“We Bez Thugs” & “Our Thugs bez yo Thugs”
Actors/Celebrities ... Is there anything they don't know? Sean Penn is a foreign policy expert, Danny Glover is a climatologist, and now this clown is a legal expert.
