Maybe more libs will wake up to this, and some so called conservatives too.

George? We already know you’re gay. No blackmail possibilities for you on that one.

Do I recall correctly that his parents ended up in a Japanese internment camp?

a. I think the NSA snooping was horrible.
B. I don’t care what George Takei thinks.
C. I imagine he doesn’t much care for what I think, either.

Japanese in internment camps lived in fairly comfortable billets and roamed around the Army posts, and only those with evidence of associations with Japanese government officials of the time were interned.
That said, though, anyone in favor of illegal surveillance is mentally ill.

To go a little off topic, Mr. Sulu isn’t being quite honoest here. People weren’t put into internment camps because they looked Japanese, it’s because they were in fact duel citizens of Japan and the US. They didn’t separate young children from parents however, which is probably why he was included with them.

Somehow I just cannot imagine that Takei would have had such a polite reply if this had occurred under George Bush.

I appreciate his concerns TODAY, but then, it was more than "because they looked like" certain people. Michelle Malkin has FBI documents of Japanese in Hawaii and California who were out and out spying, including sending pics of Battleship Row and other wartime info.
That said, the bunch currently in charge makes FDR look like Barry Goldwater.

A little off topic, but I have been seeing some strange divisions on this subject. It does not break down on liberal conservative lines.
There are liberals (and self proclaimed) conservatives supporting Obama on spying on American citizens and there are liberals and conservative opposing it.
I am wondering if Hell has frozen over since I am on the same side as Michael Moore on this.

Interesting perspective on data gathering. No one can convince me the information being gleaned won’t be used on Obama’s political enemies. Portions of it... especially on political candidates.. will end up in the hands of the DNC.

I really don’t care if he is gay or not. What is important to me is his message that we must NOT repeat history. He is seeing what I’m seeing and it is not good. At least when he was in an internment camp at least he was released. My concern is the next round up we may never be released.
