Today, June 24th, is DAY #11 (of 3rd week) State of Florida V. George Zimmerman case. The first day of the actual trial. The previous two weeks were jury selection and the conclusion of the Frye Hearing.
Over the weekend Judge Debra Nelson ruled that State voice identification experts would not be allowed to claim Trayvon Martin was the voice heard calling for help on the 911 call tapes based on unproven science. The jury reported for sequestered duty on Sunday.
Today opening statements are set to begin:

I hope the overhyping this guy is doing will backfire. He’s making it out that Zimmerman walked up to Trayvon, slapped the phone from his hand, shot him, and then set-up the scene.
Guy should have started his opening with the words: “Once upon a time in a land far far away ...”

Doesn’t this imply that the State has no intention of calling Fulton or Martin as witnesses? The thing I fear the most is Sybrina pulling off an emotional act over loss of her baaaayyybeee.
Opening Staement:
“We have no real evidence, only speculation and hearsay. But we DO have emotional pleas and innuendo, which should be enough to railroad the defendant!”
Guy is telling a bedtime story and bedtime stories sometimes go on and on until the children fall asleep.
I’ve had to mute this lying prosecutor’s opening statement. I’ll listen again when the defense starts talking. I really wish Zimmerman had fled the country immediately. He doesn’t have a chance...but, if by some miracle, he wins, he’ll be dead as soon as he leaves the courthouse. What a country we live in!

No — the law allows the victim’s family to be in the courtroom whether they are witnesses of not. But allowing the defendant’s family to be there is a matter of judicial discretion.

I liked his assertion that Zimmerman is trained in the martial arts because he went to a gym and that gym teaches self-defense as well.
I’m surprised that he didn’t mention how many times he was late on his homework assignments.

I don’t think Martin’s thug reputation is allowed in court. How sad. Right now he is pictured as a 5’11” 150 lb. frail...innocent...clean-cut teen with no prior offenses.
WFTV’s Kathi Belich on Twitter was describing Tracy Martin as wiping a tear while Zimmerman was stone faced.
