Today, June 26th, is DAY #13 (of 3rd week) State of Florida V. George Zimmerman case. An explosive second day of deconstructed witness testimony took place yesterday. Which leads to the “big question”:
Will witness #8, Rachel Jeantel, be called to the stand today?
[Yesterday could] … only be characterized as an utter debacle for the prosecution in Florida v. Zimmerman. Besides the testimony of a couple of highly professional law enforcement witnesses, the testimony of the the other State witnesses ranged from signing George Zimmerman’s praises, to acknowledging the utility of following a suspicious person from a distance, to being utterly discredited by razor sharp cross-examination of the defense.
Before we even get to the disaster that was the State’s witnesses, however, we first have to discuss this morning’s hearing and the extent to which it evanescent is the State’s case against George Zimmerman. State: Zimmerman Is So Good, He Must Be Bad ............

Well... that PURPLE DRANK probably helped.
Not sure about that...she threw in the swearing and racist comments, which really comes out as credible as far as what he commented....but, I think we all see, that the exact place where TM was and where she thought he was, was mixed up. She was busy 'doin her hair' to remember or care where Saint Martin was at exact times during the call. So that I think, is understood by almost everyone.
Thank God for small favors.
General strategy question:
It sounds from comments as if R would go full-on ghetto on West under light pressure. If so, then... should West give R that light pressure?

She looks VERY nervous sitting on the stand waiting for her cross examination to resume. She has to know West is going to expose her as a liar about almost everything.
The angle for me is she has a poor self image. She avoids letting down anyone. Her lies and her weight and her avoidance of cameras are similar to young women who were emotionally abused and therefore lie to protect themselves.
They’re talking about impeachment of the witness now. It was more than just those couple of lies. She confessed she didn’t take Crump’s deposition “seriously,” meaning she could have lied her ass off through the depo. I’m not sure you can get worse than that.
A teleprompter would be essential.
From a trial lawyer's perspective it is always hard to decide if you should attack a particular witness hard. You could make the person sympathetic if you do not get the reaction you want.
So far, there has not been ONE witness to prove in any manner, shape or form that George is guilty of murder through offensive action.....rather, his action plan of a self-defense pleas has not been dented or dashed to pieces in any way at all.
If this is the best the prosecution has to offer, or if they were pinning hopes that the anti-Z cretin witnesses would nail the defendant, they must be in the men's room right now gulping one Exedrin after another.

Thank you for setting the record straight on the jurors. Like most, I was apprehensive when I learned six females were picked. But when I read that - for the most part - these are conservative, married, well educated women, some of whom even carry; then I felt a lot better.
Is it the thunderstorms down in the area???
