The entire SCOTUS is apparently at the mercy of its clerks (and administrators), who are almost to a man (or woman) Left Wing with many very gay.

It is this corps of the unanswerable to just about anyone, who actually decide on a day-to-day basis, what the justices will first see or not see.

Traditionally, four justices must decide what appeals to hear or not hear. For example in the appeals to hear Obama Constitutional Eligibility cases, three justices (A,S&T) have rather consistently voted in conference to do so. Close.

As a side note, does anyone else think it’s ironic that the day after these atrocious rulings come down, that California is experiencing a heat wave of “life-threatening” proportions, reaching possibly 122 degrees in the desert and 107 in the valleys?

This Ahab.

Yeah, I figured as much at the onset. But I was also pointing out that Melville's Ahab was undone by the very thing he so much wanted -- the embodiment of "Be careful what you wish for, you might get it."
