NFL ARRESTS DATABASE (45 pages from 2000-2013)
San Diego Union-Tribune ^ | 6/26/2013 | Compiled by Brent Schrotenboer and Merrie Monteagudo

Posted on 06/26/2013 11:20:38 PM PDT by South40

These are arrests and citations involving NFL players since 2000 that were more serious than speeding tickets. U-T San Diego reviewed hundreds of news reports and public records in compiling it. The list cannot be considered comprehensive in part because some incidents may not have been reported and some public records proved to be elusive. Increased media coverage of incidents also probably accounts for more incidents listed in recent years.

This is why all NFL teams have a clause in the contracts to dump the player when events like this occur. You would think that a guy who is pulling in $4 million a year would be awful careful not to screw up his limited years of high-income.

The majority of the players who end up on such lists have been coddled, pampered and made into self-believing idols since high school. Many see themselves as “Gods” who are above or immune to any laws. IMO, they, being a “nonproductive” member of our society who contribute NOTHING to our GNP numbers, need to be dealt with the same as any other criminal, should they break the law.

Most of them have the motto, “Don’t you know who I am?”

Maybe the NFL and the NCAA should just become a Prison League. Get the thugs out of the Colleges and Universities!

Yes, but to be fair we really should compare these arrest rates to that of the general population — that’s the term they use for prison inmates, right?

NFL ARRESTS DATABASE (45 pages from 2000-2013)

That's just 661 in 14 years; an average of just over 47 each year.
No biggie!

We all need to remember that not all, but most of these people have an IQ about the same as their age.
Planning ahead is not their main strength, but instant gratification and anger issues seem to be their main life's motivation.

No big surprise there.

Since Obammy is going to use the NFL for pimping Obammycare, maybe he can use some as contract killers for the Death Panels, too.

Josh Brent is still on the Cowboys’ official roster.

Of course that’s 13 years for a sport with 1500+ players on the active roster at any given moment, at least that many cycle through in a year when you include training camp and the practice squad. It’s actually a pretty small number.
