Create a fake account using a name of your choice...

Doesn't that give them your computer's address? Could I do that from the public library's computers? I've heard they track you even after you've logged off.

I missed this part. I was convinced she was an unreliable witness with she testified twice that she did believed that “creepy a** cracker” was NOT a racial slur. If she believes that then Paula Deen just got her slot back on the Food Network.

West: “You don’t think “crazy-ass cracker” is racial?” Jeantel: “No.””

Says it all!

Well, then, neither is "thug-@$$ n.....; it refers to attitude and behavior.

They’ll want an email address (for passwords, etc) and I have a “drop email address” that isn’t tied to my real world identity that I use. They want a real name but you can use anything that fits the firstname/lastname convention (”John Smith”).

After you create an account they will attempt to get you to reveal personal detail (”C’mon - get in the swim!”) but there isn’t any requirement.

And lastly there are several privacy settings that you should configure. By default they have everything turned on full-blast. Do a web search on harden facebook privacy for tips on how to lock them down.

The rest is up to you how you use your account. Just remember, “there ain’t no such thing as privacy!” so watch what you say and you should have no problem viewing other FB pages.

I think every site you visit on the internet has access to your ISP address which I don't consider a problem.

If you like reading the articles people here post (as I do) and want to enjoy wading into the comments on such articles, a Facebook account allows you to do that without having to create an actual account with that newspaper in most cases.

The only factual information you have to have on that Facebook account is your email address of which I have two.

I actually have two Facebook accounts, one which is my real name that I very seldom use and only log on when I wish to see what my friends are up to and then deactivate immediately when I leave the site.

And another using a fake name, fake location, fake etc, etc, etc that I use strictly to make comments on news sites........

I suppose you could use a library computer but wouldn't that be an unnecessary inconvenience since the fake Facebook account still allows access to your real email address?

Did De La Rionda realize that he was putting Geraldine on the stand?

(For those of you under 50, Geraldine was Flip Wilson’s popular TV character.)

Both my sons are in their 40’s, and learned cursive in school, but don’t try to read any of it. Their signatures look like a pre-school kid’s scribbling.

Over time my signature has pretty much devolved into a scribble.

You wouldn’t believe some of the nimrods I’ve seen on jury duty.

True, but still an insult to "Nimrod" the great and mighty King.

I must disagree with “The all-estrogen courtroom will feel such an overwhelming sympathy of sisterhood, the testimony will be stricken.”

My guess is the court will understand the witness was coached, and the real issue may soon arise - Who wrote that letter for her?”

IIRC, a little voice kept saying “Scheme team, scheme team, scheme team, .....

"My uncle was illiterate too dropped out of school third grade..."

My Dad only went to 4th grade. He injured his leg at a young age, and ended up with Osteomyelitis, but worked his whole life on the railroad...first as a laborer, then as a Track Foreman. Despite his lack of education, he was able to read and write, even cursive. Every night he'd sit at the kitchen table and fill out track reports, and time records for the crew.
