Jimmy Carter, a disaster as president and a man who doesn’t know when to get off the stage is making broad assumptions about religions based on superficial understanding, at best. The lumping of Christianity and Islam is his biggest mistake. Even putting the vast and incompatible doctrinal differences of these faiths aside, the way Catholics and Protestants treat female believers and church members has absolutely no relation to the severe subjugation stridently patriarchal Islam demands of female Muslims. Carter is a fool.

But I think Carter did it because he was deliberately looking for “moral equivalence” between a religion that cherishes women and helped pave the way for their equality, and a religion that considers women property.
This fits with his belief system. He promoted moral equivalence between the US and the USSR. Also, he whole-heartedly supports the supports the holocaust of the unborn.

I don’t know what’s more infuriating, Carter or some of the comments below the Yahoo article. The violent anti-Christian crowd is getting steadily larger and more openly aggressive.
I would say this country is toast, but I still hold out hope. Need a Great Awakening or another St. Paul-like figure to come along.
