Carter: World Religions Perpetuate Women's Plight
BILL BARROW ATLANTA — Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter says religious leaders, including those in Christianity and Islam, share the blame for mistreatment of women across the world. The human rights activist said Friday religious authorities perpetuate misguided doctrines of male superiority, from the Catholic Church forbidding women from becoming priests to some African cultures mutilating the genitals of young girls.
Carter said the doctrines, which he described as theologically indefensible, contribute to a political, social and economic structure where political leaders passively accept violence against women, a worldwide sex slave trade and inequality in the workplace and classroom.
"There is a great aversion among men leaders and some women leaders to admit that this is something that exists, that it's serious and that it's it troubling and should be addressed courageously," Carter said at an international conference on women and religion.

Am I forbidden to leave the house to see a doctor? No, the Church runs hospitals for women like me.
Am I forbidden to give the sermon or lead the call to prayer from the tower? Yep. Ahhhhh! Just the same! oppression! oppression!

As if giving the means and encouragement for a woman’s strength in having and raising a child was equivalent to the very genital mutilations that would prohib that as a matter of demeaning language of a woman’s sexual functions.

Jimmy Carter is a despicable anti-Catholic bigot. He was responsible for so many evil acts in his political career. This is probably a good way for him to end his life, with public statements of bigotry.
I never thought I would feel malaise again, but here we are.
I always gave Jimmy a pass as a good natured, addle brained do gooder, but he gave us Obama.

Carter got a LIAR kind of rating in the AJC for these statements. He’s a senile old man that wasn’t much good at being a POTUS.
