New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg took to the air Friday morning to respond to a growing number of critics of his stop and frisk policing program.
He offered no apologies, but instead told his listeners that the NYPD has not done enough in the way of stopping minorities.
‘It’s society’s job to make sure that no one group is disproportionately represented as potential perpetrators,’ Bloomberg told radio host John Gambling on New York City’s WOR. ‘I think we disproportionately stop whites too much and minorities too little.’
‘Most crimes in our city – serious crimes – are committed by male, minorities 15 -25,’ said Bloomberg. ‘When it comes to policing, the police have to be able to go out and stop, look for, those that fit the description of a witness or a victim after a crime.’
He declared that if New York City’s police officers were unable to accomplish that, they would effectively be turning ‘over the streets to the criminals.’
In recent weeks a growing chorus of critics has challenged Bloomberg's approach to fighting crime, pushing back against policies that he credits for making New York the safest major city in America.

Bloomberg cant handle the truth; that minorities commit crimes at much higher idsproportionate rates than whites. If hell go riding around with a police officer or just one day he might realize how stupid his statement was.

When I first started reading this, I thought it had to be satire from the Onion.
I had to look at the source for the article, because saying this in public is dangerous in today's society.

Where is the ‘sarcasm’ tag for this. I don’t believe bloomy said that....
I used to run DC to Philly 5 nights a week in an F250 Ford Cargo Van filled with various boxes etc.
This was back when MD first ‘admitted’ to profiling and were catching flack for the ‘over’ stoppage of minorities.
I was always waiting to get ‘pulled over’ and my stock answer was going to be that I was going to sue for reverse discrimination as they were trying to keep their numbers ‘even’.
Naturally when you observe the speed limit, don’t zig zag in and out of traffic, use turn signals, drive with lights on and not on high beam etc, you cut your chances down considerably.
Back in the early 90’s to early 00’s, I was running 100 thousand miles a year and I got ticketed for speeding ONCE in that period 70/60. Got ‘checked out’ a few times but only the one ticket, never had vehicle searched. My other line was “anything behind this screen is under invoice, most are sealed and though I have no problem with your looking into the boxes, the lawyers I am working for may”.
Sadly I could use neither as the situation never arose..
Oh yes, I was being a ‘naughty boy’ as I deemed it necessary to have a traveling companion with me that would help deter someone getting the wrong idea of what my ‘cargo’ was, so it behooved me NOT to get searched etc...
My friend ‘Mr. Ruger’ has been a constant companion of mine for many a year, and, like AMEX, I ‘Don’t leave home without it’.
It’s not satire. The New York City Council is trying to pass a resolution whereby police officers cannot identify suspects by race, age, or gender. While that sounds insane to a normal person, some Leftists are backing it. Bloomberg has fought that resolution and he’s supported the NYPD’s stop-and-frisk policy by citing the obvious fact that minority males commit the overwhelming majority of crime. I commend his unapologetic truth-telling.

My question is why is Bloomberg so blatantly off the plantation? Is he setting himself up for higher office such as governor or president? Is he trying to show he really is looking out for us and not just what we eat? Law and order is out of character for him.
I can’t believe Americans no matter what color they are allow this fascist action to take place.
