New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg took to the air Friday morning to respond to a growing number of critics of his stop and frisk policing program.
He offered no apologies, but instead told his listeners that the NYPD has not done enough in the way of stopping minorities.
Its societys job to make sure that no one group is disproportionately represented as potential perpetrators, Bloomberg told radio host John Gambling on New York Citys WOR. I think we disproportionately stop whites too much and minorities too little.
Most crimes in our city serious crimes are committed by male, minorities 15 -25, said Bloomberg. When it comes to policing, the police have to be able to go out and stop, look for, those that fit the description of a witness or a victim after a crime.
He declared that if New York Citys police officers were unable to accomplish that, they would effectively be turning over the streets to the criminals.
In recent weeks a growing chorus of critics has challenged Bloomberg's approach to fighting crime, pushing back against policies that he credits for making New York the safest major city in America.

Some of the readers didn’t read carefully. This is ONE time Bloomie is RIGHT ON.
Everybody knows minorities can’t afford 32 oz. Big Gulps. Profiling works.
Bloomberg's right on this - stopped clock and all...
Blacks kill 7X more than Whites kill. Blacks kill Whites 20X more than Whites kill Blacks. Blacks assault/mug Whites 50X more than Whites assault/ mug Blacks. Black men RAPE White woman 1000X more that White men rape Black woman “Color of Crime” Google for pdf
That Bloomie is right on, is the part we are having trouble understanding.
Silly rabbit actually believe the crap that gun control is about “public safety”.
I misread it or it was edited. Not sure. I thought the premise was that not enough whites were topped and frisked and now it seems to say the reverse. Dont know for sure. Maybe i was half asleep...
