Here comes the cavalry: Big-money GOP groups, donors bolster pro-amnesty Republicans

Business interests want to expand the supply of cheap labor. Republican leaders want a magic bullet that’ll supposedly start to make them competitive again with Latino voters. No one but no one wants the party’s biggest young Latino star to have his presidential hopes dashed before he’s even begun to run — except of course for the handful of jerks like me who think lying bald-faced to your constituents on a key issue to get elected is a dealbreaker.

It’s time for the Republican establishment to say, “Thanks, Marco.”

Fox News viewers in Florida will see a new commercial in the coming weeks urging them to call Senator Marco Rubio. “Thank him for keeping his promise, and fighting to secure the border,” a narrator says in the ad, which is paid for by the conservative American Action Network.

Another group, Americans for a Conservative Direction, led by former Gov. Haley Barbour of Mississippi and other top Republicans, has been running ads in Iowa lately that implore those watching to “stand with Marco Rubio to end de facto amnesty.”…

[M]any of the most powerful and well-financed forces in the party are moving to provide cover for the Florida senator and Republicans like him who are pushing to overhaul the nation’s immigration system…

As the party assesses its chances for the 2016 presidential campaign, many Republican strategists believe that they need as robust a primary field as possible, with more than just one or two viable potential contenders.

Americans for Prosperity also made Rubio the keynote speaker at its annual conference. He’s not the only one benefiting from this PR bankroll— but Rubio’s become the face of reform and therefore has the most to lose as the grassroots backlash builds.

Never forget Reagan was burdened with the NWO/Rockyfeller GHWBush who is rumored to have put the hit on RR that almost killed him and certainly took a lot of steam out of his presidency. FUGB!

I’m convinced a genuinely conservative candidate who states his/our case clearly would defeat a wellfunded squish GOP-e,maybe Im naive but buying a conservative vote is more difficult than a liberal one. I’m a Mississippi native and can’t comprehend Barbours position at all, which runs counter to the vast majority of Mississippi Republicans. Our position won’t change, but he will line his pockets anyway win or lose

The GOP recedes in my rear-view mirror as 6 years has passed since I registered as a Republican. I still vote for conservatives when I can find them.

I’m lost as to why a conservative would stay with this party, which hasn’t thrown cons a bone in years.

Speaking of $$, here's another "GOP" amnesty group...

From Wikipedia...

Republicans for Immigration Reform is a SuperPAC which aims at pushing for immigration reform in the United States and improving the Republican Party’s standing among Hispanics.[1]

Promoted in early 2012 by former US Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez,[1] its advocates hope it will help repair the political damage left by years of anti-illegal-immigrant rhetoric that has dominated GOP primaries and alienated crucial Hispanic voters.[2] Another important supporter is Charles Spies, a member of the PAC Restore Our Future.[1] Gutierrez believes that "the far right of this party has taken the party to a place that it doesn't belong"

No politician is perfect. But Reagan wasn’t just conservative, he was A conservative. He was a movement conservative who, to their horror, bucked the republican establisment and the normal established way of doing things and tore them asunder.

In the long line of repulican nominees from the Depression to today (Landon, Willkie, Dewey, Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford, Bush, Dole, Bush, McCain, Romney), only two stand out that either shook things up or would have (Goldwater and Reagan). The rest were the same old thing.

Because the Republicans are,at worst, the lesser of two evils. The undeniable reality is that in a given election...for major offices,at least...one of those two evils will prevail.Case in point...Perot,20% of the popular vote...0.00000% of the Electoral vote. When forced to choose between painful, terminal cancer and a serious case of pneumonia I'll take the pneumonia despite the fact that I'd rather have neither of them.

You forgot to mention Reagan and his GHWB, O’Connor, Kennedy, Jas. Baker, III, it’s not as long a list as the bushes have, but it is there. The late Howard Phillips was warning about Reagan asleep at the switch as early as 1982.

we protect them from the marxists only to have them turn around and screw us by pimping amnesty

Similar to the "GREATEST GENERATION" going to Europe and Asia to fight socialists and then adopting socialism once they return home.

I will hold my nose and vote for them most times over a Rat, but the RepubliCommie Party will never get another red cent from me. We need a good ole fashioned populist candidate that can point fingers at the kleptocratic practices of both sides. I’m about ready to start throwing $h!+.

The Reagan Administration was lousy with Bush operatives. His Chief of Staff was the Bush Family Consigliere James Baker for crips sake!

This is why we’re going to lose. GOPe wants cheap workers, and the Dems want cheap votes. It’s not a country for American’s any more.

You don’t support some troll like rubio who cares more about commie mexicans than he does his conservative base, which includes mostly white folk. Rubio is a worm, a racist and a 70 IQ moron.

Screw the RINOs. We’re taking you down...
