It hasnt even been seven months since the Center for Science in the Public Interest unveiled its annual list of most calorific, fat-fortified meals, but the CSPI was apparently so grossed out by a new menu item from Long John Silvers that it couldnt wait to include in next years round-up and has awarded it the title of Worst Restaurant Meal in America.

I guess that I now know what I am going to eat for Dinner tonight!
Three guys with a letterhead and a fax machine is what he calls them.
Somehow they missed deep fat frying the colesalw.
Meh - they just haven’t heard of “The Beast”, served up at Miller Field:

A hotdog inside a brat, wrapped with bacon...I think they should have called it “Mohammeds Last Supper”!
I eat at Capt Ds or long John Silvers about twice a year. I know its not health food, but it is quite yummy! After reading that, I’m thinking about Capt D’s tonight.
How is LJS not health food? I get fish oil there.
The worst meal has to be the “Homestead Breakfast” served at Bob Evans.
I may add that I make it the worst with somewhat excessive overuse of sausage gravy on my part!
Is Long John Silver still around? They’ve all closed in my area.
waaa waaa waa....don’t eat there if you don’t want it. Lordy I get frustrated by these do gooders wanting to take away a few joys in life.
Would I eat this kind of meal every day? Of course not. I wouldn’t be able to slide across the floor if I did, But every now and then I like my fish and chips.
Would I eat them at Captain D’s (or where ever it was) most likely no. I like my fish fresh and since I do a mean batter I’d rather do it myself
Co-branded with Taco Bell here. Both seem to be doing fine.

OMG. Its.....FRIED!! Go fire up the Prius. We’re going home!
Me too!

Great Minds.....
From a dispassionate observer, that is kind of the point here. They are showing just how out of whack the meals are. There is a difference between knowing a meal is bad and knowing that one bad meal is the equivalent of eating 20 big macs and five large fries.

Good idea, replace the coleslaw on that fish plate with a biscuit and sausage graaaaavvvyyy
As I call them the “Center for Science in Their Own Interest”.
That sounds good.
This is why I don’t eat out very much. It’s a killer.
