During the very first of the "Tea Party" protests here in Florida in March '09, we, FreeRepublic, had an information table at every rally. (March, August & November rallies)

FreeRepublic is like a river and you toss your ideas into it and you don't know where those ideas will end up.
And, someone downstream will read what you wrote and begin to feel as though they are not alone with their ideas.
It is good to be a Freeper.

As well he should because RUSH has been making MILLIONS of dollars off of Free Republic for years. A good 90% of what he covers is just a rehash of news and opinion articles he has read off of Free Republic by way of his "show prep". I have usually read the stories he covers and opines on anywhere from 6 hours to two days BEFORE he comments on them on Free Republic. The same holds true for Howie Carr. By in large they are just regurgitating stories poste on FR.
These guys have been making MILLIONS of dollars for years from Free Republic. It is about time RUSH and Howie along with numerous other "talk show hosts" step up to the plate and financially support FR with some serious cash. So while it is nice that RUSH gives kudos to FR, it would be better still if he backed it up with some serious cash. Heavens knows he can afford it.

FreeRepublic was THE driving force behind the public protests of the 2000 election recounts in Florida. The focus had shifted from Clinton to a demand for a broader application of conservative principles and government accountability.

Does anyone besides me remember the time Rush let the phrase “barf alert” slip out once on his show?
I wonder what his FReeper handle is?

Actually, Karl Denninger is the one that got me to my first Tea Party activity.
I consider him the founder.
Do a google on “karl denninger tea party founder”

“Freeping” is part of the general ‘net lexicon because of our effectiveness, though perhaps it could also be called “brownsfanning” or “subgeniusing” for the other effective early practioners. “Freeping” sounds better...though the finest hour was still Memogate.
