I guess no one ever taught you civics, so I’m just going to have to do it: You have the right to do anything you damned well please unless it violates the rights of others. That’s freedom. It doesn’t need any further explanations.
“I guess no one ever taught you civics, so Im just going to have to do it: You have the right to do anything you damned well please unless it violates the rights of others. Thats freedom. It doesnt need any further explanations.”
Really? Because the Declaration of Independence states as a self-evident truth that our Creator endows us with rights.
Unless rights have a source, unless they are grounded in more than a person’s subjective judgment of what violates the rights of others, they mean nothing.
Your definition of freedom has led to the killing of well over 50 million innocent babies, not to mention what it has done to the institution of the family.
It has led to the United States Supreme Court endorsing sodomite play-pretend marriage.
It is very likely to bring us legalized child molestation in the near future, simply by persuading the Supreme Court that children are not harmed by sex with adults.
God is the source of true rights, which means that nothing which offends Him can be a right. He extends to humanity the freedom to choose Evil, but there is a critical difference between a freedom to do Evil and a right to do Evil—the latter cannot exist.
Sodomites are extended the freedom to engage in their loathsome perversions by the United States Government and by God. However, there is not, nor can there ever be, a right to engage in such Evil.
