Lbryce, the point is that RingerSIX’s initial comment was asking “What am I missing.” There was no intent that I can see to insult you. By your response you obviously felt insulted.

So kiss and make up you two.

Many of us have seen thousands upon thousands of high performance jet takeoffs. They pretty much all do that (short roll to vertical climb), and so many of us are jaded and expect something new.

I absolutely agree with you that the conversation is lost, as you say. For the most part, I have no problems with anyone, mostly treated with respect and dignity, as I attempt to respond in kind.

As a general rule ,my posts,replies, mail, are written in the most polite, courtesy, professional manner. On the occasion I get sarcastic,demeaning responses, generally speaking, I won't do anything but if the problems persist, I go straight to the Moderator

In these case, there were many posters who wholeheartedly expressed similar reactions to my very own as being spectacular. So, we had two posters who were not impressed with the video. To me posting and getting a comment like RingerSIX from him was not that I was insulted but was taken aback by what I thought wa spurposeful mean-spirited-ness in an attempt to somehow deny whatever it is I might benefit from and responded to him in the manner it deserved.

But now in his final message he again uses sarcasm, belittlement in requesting I my waste performing some arduous task,measuring something or other to prove whatever it is he desires. Just before, your letter arrived ,I made the decision to discontinue any dialogue with him seeing the futility of it all.

Thanks MB. As you mentioned, many FReepers have seen untold thousands of aircraft takeoffs. I’ve been to air shows from Cherry Point to El Toro, and I merely wanted the original poster to point out to me what it was I was looking for in the video, since there was nothing I could find that I hadn’t seen F15/F16/F18/F22/etc do on many occasions. And it has ended up in a flurry of hurt feelings. Too bad.

I still wish he’d point out the minutes and seconds into the video where “it” happens.
