Nice...
I wonder how many Republicans would remain Republicans if Republicans did things like this.
WTF ???
Against their will? For the freakin public good?
Unreal. What Effing country are we becoming?

Yes, it's an off topic article, but I can't help but be reminded of the trends of the last century, from Margaret Sanger and Ernst Ruden, a contributor to her writings and some say the originator of the term "freedom of choice", though I doubt that. The Erbgesundheitsgericht, Genetic courts (Karl Astel who ran them in the mid 30s was a big anti tobacco guy). But what do I know, I'm not a Margaret Sanger, or an Ernst Ruden (Whoever is not physically or mentally fit must not pass on his defects to his children. The state must take care that only the fit produce children). What do I know about fit, I don't think Ruden or Sanger were fit, though I'd certainly not expect the state to interfere with their bodies, as California does.
Anyway, off topic, but I came across an interesting citation checking some of the names I mentioned, which I'd forgotten.
The actual translations are subject to correction, but I've seen Martin Niemoller frequently cited on FR, dozens and dozens of times
First they came for the Communists
and I did not speak out-
because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out-
because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out-
because I was not a trade unionist.
then they came for me
and there was no one left
to speak for me.
A well known quotation.
Less well know, the poem from Dietrich Bonhoeffer it was based on
They came from the Jews,
and I did not object, as I am not a Jew.
They came for the Catholics,
and I did not object,
as I was not a Catholic.
Finally, they came for me,
and there was no one left to object."
Wasn't stolen, they were colleagues. Why do we know one and not the other, perhaps because one survived the camps, the other didn't.
Anyway, sorry for the long post, but I though it was worth remembering Bonhoeffer, and another of his writings is on topic.
Destruction of the embryo in the mother's womb is a violation of the right to live which God has bestowed upon this nascent life. To raise the question whether we are here concerned already with a human being or not is merely to confuse the issue. The simple fact is that God certainly intended to create a human being and that this nascent being has been deliberately deprived of his life. And that is nothing but murder
Shame on California.
