"...enter what is probably the last week of the trial, I am sure that everyone is anxious about the outcome. For the past sixteen months, I have proudly supported the courageous parents of Trayvon Martin as they have fought for justice for their son..." That tells you all you need to know about this person. There is so much packed into those two sentences.

"As I have heard Trayvon's parents say time and time again, they are not only fighting for justice for their son, they are fighting for all of us, "
No, I think they are in it for the payday. Otherwise they would have been the people who actually raised him for most of his brief life.

I have greatly admired the grace and humility that they have exuded... There's something "exuding" from this trial...
It doesn't smell anything like "grace" or "humility" though.

I doubt that the other 26 states that do not have stand your ground laws would have been implementing them even without the St. Thugvon incident.

Perhaps this is the reason no further states passed Stand Your Ground laws:

Yes, that Russell Simmons. Lol! I mistoke the name for Richard Simmons and pictured the entire screed being read in a lisp by a misty eyed gay exercise guru in way too short hot pants...

The power of the NRA and their gun-toting cronies in business were stopped in their tracks by the Justice For Trayvon Martin movement.

It wasn’t a “stand your ground” case, “Russell”.
GZ was pinned to the ground and being simultaneously suffocated and pummeled to death.
He had no choice, much less requirement, to “flee”.

So wait a second. He’s actually proud of the fact that additional “Stand Your Ground” laws haven’t been passed in the last year?
So do most members of non-white communities in America seek to keep the rest of us as victims? SYG serves a purpose, and it should be an unwritten purpose, one that does not need to be codified but was an understood right. Now that we have to codify it, it’s become a bastardized “right” that only applies to those who can afford an attorney to fight for that right.
This trial is a disgusting spectacle, and regardless of the outcome, it will go down as a travesty of justice that Zimmerman had to go through any of this BS.

George Zimmerman will never again be “free” in his lifetime (if he ever was) what ever the trial verdict.
