I agree with your comments about the jury. Just as an aside, I think it’s time to bring back more intelligent juries. People who do know about sensational crime stories and yet can still render an impartial verdict. Empaneling these people who live under a rock doesn’t seem to work to justice’s benefit.
If a verdict of not guilty is returned I expect Eric Holder to have the (In)Justice Department file charges against Zimmerman for vilolation of Trayvon Martin's civil rights.
That is the federal government's underhanded way of violating the restriction against Double Jeopardy and getting the verdict they want.
It has has been done before, most notably in the Rodney King case.
There is no way this Prosecution can win this....I mean, they actually seem to be helping the defense prove “reasonable doubt”, IMO

I read yesterday but can’t confirm it’s accuracy, that in FL the manslaughter charge in an automatic underlying charge of murder charges. That is, the judge wouldn’t have slipped it in because it’s automatic and she was simply reminding the jury of this.
Well, watching the prosecution’s rebuttal, I’m not sure Zim is going to be found not-guilty anymore. He probably is, but this attorney guy is pretty slick.

I always thought if there was any doubt at all...then there’s no way you can say “guilty”. I have NO reasonable doubt that Zimmerman is guilty. He’s guilty of shooting TM. But he’s 100% innocent, in that he did it in SELF DEFENSE. So therefore, should NOT be convicted.
Oh...here’s the race argument. This case is NOT about race. It’s about right/wrong. All things being equal, if roles were reversed...yadda yadda....I’d say the same exact things, given the situation and backgrounds of who were involved.
And by the way, Mr. Guy....where is your PROOF that Zimmerman has “hate in his heart”????? Where? I have not seen ANY to prove that. However, I have seen the proof that TM had prejudice and an attitude....not sure about “hate in the heart” though. Doesn’t that go against the rules, speculating what is in someones heart???

The prosecutor’s rebuttal was very effective this morning.
They used the key words...adult vs child, very effectively. My guess is jury will find George guilty of manslaughter. Note that all the 6 jury women have children.

The way he was banging Z’s head on the pavement, Martin could have been charged with attempted murder.
Vile... they wanted the lynching of a white middle class conservative... Zimmerman was close enough for 'em.
The prosecution says that Zimmerman chased Martin down and shot him. However, there were four minutes from the time Zimmerman lost sight of Martin until the time that the witnesses say the confrontation started. At that start of that four minutes, Martin was less than 100 yards from his house, some point during that four minutes, Martin told the girl he was talking to that he was right by the house, but at the end of the 4 minutes, Martin was right back where he started, and that is where the confrontation happened.
So, he either hid around there for four minutes, or went home and then came back to find Zimmerman. I don’t think the prosecution offered any explanation, so that’s why they are the “missing” four minutes.
An appeal to the jury’s emotions is patently unethical.
I can’t stand cops. Frankly, I’m sick and tired of all the kudos they get in the media and by people who always tend to lump them in with firefighters. Last time I checked, firefighters actually DO risk their lives every time they’re called. They actually DO care about saving people and helping people.
Every cop I’ve ever known in my life was a total and complete jackass. Every encounter I’ve had with one due to accidents, etc they have enormous egos and couldn’t give a rip about what just happened to you. And one only look to Boston to see how they will turn on we citizens when called to do so by the Federal government.
I’m not saying that there aren’t some good guys out there. There undoubtedly is, but for the most part they suck. We’re supposed to trust our lives to these people? No thanks. I’ll protect myself.
As another FReeper said above, the prosecutor made John Edwards look sincere.
I have little faith in this jury of six mothers.
