To REALLY get their attention and to minimize the chances of them engaging in Agendanista warfare against an American citizen in the future, it SHOULD BE about three times NBC’s annual News Division gross revenue (not profits, but gross revenue). And if I would be on the jury and could influence other jurors it would be that high if we had the leeway.
But it will not likely be this high as true justice would require. It will probably be in the millions (or perhaps in the low tens of millions).
If so, the "other media outlets" have defamed him. They should be identified and the defamation documented.

This was one of the worst aspects of the case. NBC is (was) a respected news source and they used their power (not to report but) to advance a false narrative. I think the White House has its tentacles into this organization...just like they do the IRS. It’s real third-world stuff in my opinion. In any case, several million dollars should be extracted from NBC and paid to GZ for all the suffering they caused him and his familty. I’m sure GZ isn’t proud of what he had to do....maybe even regrets a decision or two..., but no man, deserves treatment like this from a National News Media Source.
No, no, firing them would be NBC and CNN putting this episode behind them. Leave them on staff so that FOX, FR et al, can have pinatas to bash on a continuing basis. It would be the gift that keeps on giving.

The jury ruled that Zimmerman’s action were LAWFUL. That means ZERO dollars from GZ to the Martin family.
Martin’s parents won’t be getting anything from Z. If they try Z will invoke the civil immunity for self-defense that Florida law allows.
For me, the destruction of the NBC brand caused by a prolonged trial would be far greater than the money.
