The CDC has quickly removed a page from their website, which is now cached here, admitting that more than 98 million Americans received one or more doses of polio vaccine within an 8-year span when a proportion of the vaccine was contaminated with a cancer causing polyomavirus called SV40. It has been estimated that 10-30 million Americans could have received an SV40 contaminated dose of the vaccine.

I was born in '53, so I may have missed getting the infant dose. Hard to say about the other one - we kids got so many immunizations through the military in those days.
Just curious... Which immunization creates that oval scar you see on people's shoulders?

I’ll go you one better. I got mine in the late 50s AND lived on base at Camp Lejune where we drank all that contaminated water that has become such a nasty scandal after a decades long cover up.
The lesson that my liberal friends should take away from this (but won’t) is that their worship of the infallible almighty government is very deluded.
Now we are allowing the IRS, NSA & DHS to peep into every aspect of our (formerly) private lives and micromanage said lives. Sick.

I remember the sugar cubes in the little white cups, but I don't recall whether I took that myself, or whether I'm recalling information I picked up later from others.
I ought to just ask my mom. She had most of her kids in the fifties, and would remember all this with clarity. Me - I was too busy just being a kid to remember the details. Like I said, we kids got more shots than others because we were Army brats.
I remember reading that by the time this vaccine came out polio was on its way out. It's about like voting. The lesser of 2 evils.

I went to Europe in 1971 and got the booster shot that year. The last year that it was given.
I believe there was evidence, now scrubbed, that linked certain vaccines with the Luddite Syndrome.
This could be why there’s that tv ad that’s been running about a mesothelioma class action suit.
