The headline is wrong.
A black man wasn’t executed.
A Murderer was executed: He just happened to be black.
Execution is not unjust-—Murder is.

Texas Has Executed Another Black Man.
Texas has executed another black man because another black man executed another human being. It's a simple as that.

So....it was an African American was it?
No, it was nothing more than an animal that murdered someone and paid the price.
I guess the title should have read “murdering-American” instead of the word “black” or “African-American” to be correct.

Re:
Ross was executed for the slayings of Douglas Birdsall, 53, the associate dean of libraries at Texas Tech University, and Viola Ross McVade. McVade was the sister of Ross' girlfriend and was not related to the convicted killer. Funny, nothing was said about Ross' victims: Douglas Birdsall and Viola McVade. Douglas Birdsall was White and Viola McVade was Black.
From http://urbangrounds.com/2013/07/execution-ross-vaughn/:
"Prosecutors say the murders took place because of an ongoing argument between Ross and McVade, who was his girlfriends sister. Birdsall, the Associate Dean of Libraries at Texas Tech University, was killed because he was with McVade, whom he had met that night. Unfortunately for Birdsall, his affinity for street prostitutes put him in the wrong place at the wrong time that night.
"The evidence is legally and factually sufficient to support appellants conviction. The murders occurred in an alley very near appellants apartment. Appellant threatened Viola with violence not long before she was murdered. Shortly before the murders, appellant told Liza to leave appellants apartment because he did not want her there in case anything happened. Liza also saw appellant wearing latex gloves, and a latex glove tip containing appellants DNA and Birdsalls blood was found inside Birdsalls car. Birdsalls blood was also on appellants sweatshirt. Appellant incriminated himself when the police asked him about the murder weapon, and he incriminated himself to his mother."

The Texas Dept of Corrections maintains a rather comprehensive website on death row prisoners.Among the thing that can be found on it are the last statements of those about to be executed. Some don't make a last statement and some,as expected, use it to proclaim their innocence and/or to declare how barbaric the DP is.But a surprising number (surprising to *me* at least) use it to acknowledge their guilt and express remorse for what they've done.

This was the 8th African American executed this year in Texas WHEN are we going to stop with the "african american" nonsense? None of these people were born in africa and I'm sure the ones born within the last 20 years have no damn clue where africa is nor can they find it on a map. No other race uses the "hyphenated" american. When was the last time you heard "a german-american, 5'9" tall wearing a yellow shirt" - "an irish-american murdered his wife", etc etc etc. All other races are referred to as either "a white male" "an hispanic woman" - what happened to "a black male"? I'm sick of this hyphenated crap!

I think God creates life, and God takes it away. I just don’t agree with the death penalty except in very rare circumstances. This is not one of those circumstances. I don’t believe he would have been a threat to the population if left in prison for life. It’s interesting to me that the son of the victim believes he should not have been killed either.
