Pope Benedict Emeritus, you have to understand was just simply too worn out to continue being Pope. Plus he may have had health issues. Also well into his 80’s, as close to advance age as my dear mother who is in her 80’s.

Also Pope Francis is much more like a Francisian than a Jesuit in living a simple life.

You got to remember that God puts Popes in the position of being Pope at a time when they are called to lead the Church as Christ’s Vicar.

Plus I have not seen such joy in the faces of the young people since Saint John Paul II.

The Church is not just for the young. If it were, the Church couldn’t survive easily as it isn’t the young that have any of that evil capitalistic money that keeps the Church afloat.
