I’ve had 2 strangers buy me coffee at Starbucks in the past 6 months - one near my home & one in an airport in another state.

"The cashier asked if he was going to drink all that coffee, or if he is going to give it to someone?" Averion recalled. "He said, 'You have to give these coffees to the next 500 customers," Averion also said. Not a feature your typical restaurant POS system is set up to accommodate directly.
Probably zero the price of coffee for the day. Or maybe manager-comp each coffee ... Or maybe, oh, forget it. Let the inventory system wonder about it.

A nice gesture, but if he wanted to be charitable, there are better ways he could have spent the $$.

Texas needs a Tim Hortons. When we go up North it is one of our first stops.

I remember watching Tim Horton when he played for the Maple Leafs against my Blackhawks in the 1960s. He was a very good defenseman.
He struck gold with the doughnut shop he opened during his career. Unfortunately, he died in a car crash in his mid-40s.
