Slamming settlements, James Mattis, former commander of CentCom, tells crowd in Aspen that moderate Arabs are forced to hide support for America.
Retired US Marine Corps General James Mattis recently said that America pays a price for its perceived bias in support of Israel.
I paid a military security price every day as the commander of CentCom because the Americans were seen as biased in support of Israel, and that moderates all the moderate Arabs who want to be with us, because they cant come out publicly in support of people who dont show respect for the Arab Palestinians, he said Saturday at the Aspen Security Forum in Colorado in response to a question about the peace process
Mattis took over Central Command, whose area of responsibility includes the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia, from David Petraeus in 2010.
He called the current situation in Israel unsustainable and blamed the settlements for harming prospects for peace. The chances for an accord between Israel and the Palestinians, said Mattis, are starting to ebb because the settlements and where theyre at are going to make it impossible to maintain the two state solution.
Mattis then described a hypothetical in which 500 Jewish settlers live among 10,000 Arabs, and the implications of where Israel draws the border. He called it a choice between giving up the idea of a Jewish state or becoming an apartheid state.

As if the moslems wouldn’t hate our way of life anyways.....
We pay a price for being a beacon of freedom. Just think of all of the money we could have saved if we had sat out the Cold War not to mention the European theatre of WWII.
Chesty Puller would knock this Marine on his tush.

Typical liberal hack, they cannot conceive that no matter what they do the muzzies will hate them. It’s like how lib groups back muzzies, because they both hate Chritianity and the USA. They have no clue that they would be next on the hit list.
Just a little flavor of how he dealt with his own surrogates and with tribal leaders in Iraq to minimize attacks on his own men:
I come in peace. I didnt bring artillery. But Im pleading with you, with tears in my eyes: If you f#%& with me, Ill kill you all.
Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet.
Im going to plead with you, do not cross us. Because if you do, the survivors will write about what we do here for 10,000 years.
Not near the price we pay for fighting Arab wars for islamderthal animals.
Baloney. He was forced out of his position by Obama because the civilian Pentagon leadership couldn’t deal with him. This guy was a “soldier’s soldier,” through and through.
I do not understand why this guy is an Ex US General. Judging by his comments, this POS seems like he fits precisely into what Obama is working to remake our entirely military.
And whose fault is this? The U. S.? Israel? Or is it the fault of ? Three guesses and the first two don't count. I even gave a very subtle hint and I doubt this guy gets it.
We should enjoy being hated by muslims. It a sign that we’re doing things right. Just ask Saudi women, Syrian Christians and many others.
Mattis and Petraus. What a team. The only sacrifice they made was in the ROE which sacrificed OUR military. I wonder how different the Iraq and Afghanistan wars would have been (are) if they had followed the battle plans of Joshua of the Old Testament instead of Alexander the Great.
So he freely admits that Islam is a violent society bent on the destruction of Israel, and that “moderate Muslims”, the Trojan Horse of Islam, cannot support the US if we support Israel in any way.
He was forced out because he wanted to go after Iran, period.
Mattis was effusive throughout the conversation in his praise for Kerry and his current effort to kick-start the long-dormant peace process.
I considered Mattis a warrior but I can't imagine a warrior in praise for the likes of Kerry and his boss.
That quote makes me think “traitor” with respect to Mattis.
The libs are already making us pay a higher price for supporting the wrong side (the Islamofascists).
Oh? Well from what he is saying you can’t tell that.
