All films push something. “2001” pushed alien intelligence and acid trips. “Forbidden Planet” pushed the Freudian subconscious and robot butlers, LOL. You want a scifi movie with serious political overtones, check out the 1950’s Cold War film “The Red Planet Mars”. As a 10 year old kid, I felt manipulated by its blatant propaganda.
Research the strategy of “product placement” in film if you want some indication about cinema in the subliminal service of marketing. Why does every (and I mean EVERY) film you see have an Apple laptop rather than a PC laptop?
