Even with those prices, they'll have a hard time staying out of the red.
If a fast food restaurant can get quality employees who stay with them, it’s worth the investment. Besides that, more efficient workers will help keep the numbers down, and avoid obamacare.
I don’t have any issues with a private owner paying what he wants. Apparently this guy does a good business but a single restaurant can’t really be compared to a nationwide franchise chain.
Meijer stores are unionized and pay the bulk of their employees $12 to $14 per hour and they remain competitive with Walmart but again they’re a business doing business their way.
I have a friend who works in a small neighborhood bakery that only has about 6 total employees and she makes about $18 per hour. She’s been there for better than a decade ans shows up at 2AM every day and the owner thinks she’s worth the money.
This is not a fast food with a drive thru establishment. This is a burger restaurant. Big difference.
Time will tell how often families eat here before or after softball practice.
Walter Williams, paging Walter Williams.
This is ludicrous. It saw a PA at the doctor’s office today and he made less than that. Much less. He had a lot to say about obama care. After our discussion he may be the newest FREEPER.
no tipping??
>Guarantee you the owners are running this business at a loss, just to make a point. Theres no way the market will support $12 an hour burger flippers.<

Get back to us when they can put up a sign like this one:
I wonder what the two pixies who own this joint will be doing this time next year. They definitely need a new website.
In college I was hired as to answer phones for minimum in a pizza place. When I started they always had a least 3 phone order takers. Pretty soon Vinnie figured I could do the job by myself(which I could). After about 2 mos of doing it all plus stepping in to make pies he announced he was going to give me a .25 raise. I bought a $1000 car and got a job at a steak place.
So a 50% rise in wages resulted in a 100% price increase.
I didn’t read the article. Are these wages for full-time or part-time workers? If they are part time, then they aren’t making any more than someone working for $8.00 an hour with full-time hours.
They still get less than 40 hrs/week. It’s fast food, not a career job
“We cheat the other guy and pass the savings along to you.”
Sounds like a yummy, reasonably priced menu. They’d better hope their $12 an hour employees can turn and burn. They’re going to need to, if they hope to make a profit.
A friend of mine was delighted when her two sons started working at Chick Fila for minimum wage. I congratulated these high school graduates for getting a job, any job. She said it wasn’t just the job - they got free meals when they worked a shift. Her family would be feeding two fewer young adults each day they worked, saving them a lot on their grocery budget.
I wonder how wide spread that practice is. If it is widespread, the minimum wage is offset by an hour’s worth of wages in food.
