Elvis recorded the original version in January 1964. Unfortunately, it was released later in the year on the B-side of his “Kissin’ Cousins” record and stalled at #29 on the Billboard Charts.

Attended a funeral of a young man who happened to be developmentally disabled and was a great fan of Elvis. Elvis gospel music was playing prior to the service beginning, and a sister of the young man wanted reassurance if the music was OK. I smiled and told her I thought the idea was wonderful, appropriate and I loved it.

Myself didn't really appreciate Elvis until I was older. As to what my fav song would be. Wow...that would be tough to say. I have to give that some thought.
