Hypothetical...maybe. Couple of things to consider though... The KGB has been noted as being sloppy on its hit jobs. And, if the hit was a message, they were probably assuming the recipients would know exactly where it came from, and then as you say, ‘why bother?’ The answer- they send their message by killing our President- “Don’t f*** with us”- and the incoming Johnson administration has the choice to go nuclear war, or keep it quiet, and strike back later....like in SE Asia.... It is not implausible.
James Reston Jr. has just come out with a book. Bizarre, LHO’s target was Gov. Connoly. Sounds outrageous.

Why would Oswald take a shot at Retired General Conservative Walker in New Orleans? Not making a judgement here. I read a lot of the Warren Commission Report on that. And the shooter escaped BUT... of all things, it may have been 2 who ran from Walker’s house that night, got into a parked car at a Church, Oswald couldn’t drive. Another curious episode in this..

Well sure Ben...A government that breaks the law and lies on a routine basis about everything and was found dosing unsuspecting innocent Americans with LSD not too many decades ago, would never conspire against it’s own citizens.
