EDD: “ Bob Martin, Welcome to the voice of Texas Bob. Good to have you with us. This is the Accountant of the Stars, from Channel 26. “
Bob: ” Morning Edd, you know you were talking about the fine or penalty you pay for not having adequate health insurance under Obamacare starting Jan 1st of next year. “
EDD: The've relabeled it though Bob, Whats the name of this thing now?
Bob: “ Im not sure exactly whats the name of it is but – I will tell you that you do not have to pay it. “
“Whats happened is that the IRS-- it is not a civil or criminal penalty not to pay it . And what happens is if you have a refund on your tax return they can take it out of there.”
“So lets say if you calibrate your tax return to just pay in the tax that you owe and not pay in the this fine or penalty they cannot charge you civil or criminal penalties for not paying this fine.”
EDD: “Right, Just like they cant charge you criminal penalties for not paying your taxes. It then just becomes and opportunity for the government to move against your paycheck garnishing your wages, bank account, or eventually seizing your assets to have the debt paid .”
“Its a tax obligation. “
Bob: “ NO ! Its NOT! - Thats the whole deal.”
EDD: “ Its not?? “ . Bob: “ No, yeah, There is no civil or criminal penalties. “.............

The IRS will do whatever the hell it wants, legal or otherwise. Anyone who thinks differently is a fool....
