“I hope Ted runs, and I hope he makes the decision early and that other conservatives get behind him and we stop the tearing down and splitting up.”

I hope a candidate who is eligible runs and we can all get behind him. Last time, IIRC - everyone was upset that Palin didn’t run and then rather than voting for the most conservative candidate on the ballot decided to hold out. It was a disappointment.

We needed unity and we had a candidate who proved he could beat Romney. Too little too late. Now we’re supposed to get behind a fantastic conservative senator who happens to be ineligible. We lose on that issue and lose the presidency and then what do we get for it?

Cato Institute: Yes, Ted Cruz Can be President

Mark Levin addresses Ted Cruz's Eligibility

Ted Cruz does not have Canadian citizenship, all he had was the ability to claim it. He has renounced that right to claim dual Canadian citizenship:

Ted Cruz: I Will Renounce any Canadian Citizenship

Some things I like about Cruz: the fact that he is a Constitutional lawyer and scholar and not only knows it academically but breathes fire about it (is committed with his whole heart), is that as President he would have a bully pulpit to educated the uneducated sheep we have in the American public. I don't even blame the low info voters any more (how many of us have had to bypass and overcome our public educations) - I blame the EVIL Gramscian MARXISTS who have taken over our universities, teaching colleges and public education systems. Having a fire breathing constitutional conservative in the White House to educate people on why our country is falling apart, and at the same time having a drive for an Amendment V convention to propose amendments that would get us back to the Constitution(as more and more Americans are taught what they've been lied to about) would be a powerful combination.

At the same time having the tea party go all out to kick RINOS out of House and Senate at every opportunity, maybe, just maybe we would have a chance.

Our other biggest enemy besides the educational establishment is the media, and having an on fire conservative as President would mean that some of the message could get out past them. I don't believe for a minute that he would sit back like Bush and just allow himself to be framed without fighting back. He's proven he has courage to take them on. We desparately need someone with courage and principles.

But what Jim is saying, I agree with. Conservatives have got to, as a group pick our own candidate EARLY, zero in and support him 100%. Maybe we don't have to pick right this minute, but we do soon, because the RINOS most definitely will have a bunch of mealy mouth semi conservatives to push on us and have us fight over until the most liberal one with the most connections wins. That's what we got stuck with with Romney and we have GOT to stop making that mistake. If necessary, we should have a conservative pre-Primary to select the candidate before the regular primaries, which are just circular firing squads. They have called the shots on this one too many times, and I think conservatives are not going to try to kick that football (Lucy-Charlie Brown reference) any more. Conservatives are mostly good and trusting people (because we are mostly honest, or try to be), and just haven't been able to believe how incredibly dishonest the RINOs are. No more!!!
