What research I have done finds the issue very convoluted as billboards were heavily involved and most of it is very pro-Ladybird but it appears that federal funds were and are involved.

Thanks for the heads up.

They haven't committed their troops to any conflict that I can think of in living memory.

If Mexico does commit forces they will need to check their calendar to make sure their tank isn't committed to a parade that day.

If Texas goes—she will not be alone. Other states will follow and a new independent nation emerge—around the core of Texas and the constution as the guide. a New CSA (Constutional States of America) —It will not take much to have this happen—an over reach by the federal government, obama naming himself President for life. etc...

Isn’t that the truth?!

Of course, it may be too late now. Even if Texas became independent, it’s government might be taken over by immigrants who will vote for more government.

Freedom is going to be awfully hard to find.

Thanks Mears. One of my friends commented that the only difference between a 65 year old fool thinking about getting a reverse mortgage and a 70 year old fool thinking about getting a reverse mortgage is about 5 years.

Unfortunately, most of the articles on the internet are written by government agencies, real estate brokers and loan sharks. My friend and her husband went this route, he died and she couldn’t come up with the cash to pay the balance so the bank now owns their home.

Every time I see Fred Thompson on TV pushing them I say shame on him. Rather like Andy and the AARP Commercial.

Bless you. With any luck we’ll be able to get him out of there this time. Would have thought he would have learned something after the ground swell of support for Cruz against him.

You betcha’. One of our major problems he creates is the appointment of Democrats as head of committees, even though Republicans are in the majority, then has a Republican on that committee propose legislation thus appearing to be “bi-partisan. Remember this happening with one of the bills this past session dealing with Medicaid funding and something to do with “the children”.

Unfortunately I’m not in his district and don’t think I know anyone who is.

I hope with all my heart that Texas always remains Texas as it is one of my favorite places in the world. Guess I was having a bad day. It’s just when you read so much in the press about how the Commurats are spending great sums of money to turn Texas, you look at the urban areas that are most definitely blue. How else can you explain a lesbian mayor in Houston? We are giving the illegals the right to vote and before you know it all has changed. Texas needs to remain the home of the free.

“Did I mention that I really don’t like LBJ?”

I remember him way back when. Didn’t like him then and still don’t. I lay a lot of blame for today’s problems at his feet. Plus anyone that would pick up a Beagle by the ears is putz. Reading a book. “The Eve of Destruction” by James T. Patterson. It’s about how 1956 transformed America. Just reinforces my feelings for LBJ.
