Drudge has been killing the White House all day by spotlighting that harrowing NYT story about the rebels that Ed blogged this morning, and now heres Kerrys response. If youre worried about Al Qaeda and its jihadi partners like Jabhat al-Nusra running wild, then you should
support a U.S. attack on their enemy Assad. Wait, what? Sure, says Kerry: Only if the U.S. empowers moderate rebels like the Free Syrian Army whose leadership, by the way, is falling apart will there be an alternative for people who want Assad gone but dont want fundamentalists to replace him. Never mind that Reuters reported months ago that jihadi groups were successfully sidelining the moderate elements within the rebel ranks and confiscating their weapons. And never mind that, as of just four months ago, the Times famously reported that there was really no such thing as a secular fighting force in rebel-controlled Syria. Evidently were going to find, or build, one and then somehow elevate it to prominence over battle-tested jihadi outfits like the Nusra Front.

Great. All that’s missing is McCain in the backseat.
Johnny The Chin is having Vietnam flashbacks. He was on the wrong side of history once and by golly, he can do it again! Maybe there’ll be a medal.
Another "Jenjis Kahn" moment?

By the time I was 17 it had been replaced by this one:
.
“....Itll get worse if we dont intervene....”
.
WTF, I thought we plan to intervene on THEIR side!!!
Words fail me.
It will be hard to blame Obama entirely for an event 150 years in the making.
I used to read for fun, both fiction and non-fiction.
I am presently reading both Ameritopia, and The Liberty Amendments. Painful to read, and certainly no fun, but aside from the purpose of those books, the background they contain explaining the purposeful transformation of the original U.S.A. is an education that everyone can profit from.
No real practicable solution in sight.
Have the "transformers" already won? Obama is just the current symptom. The complete rot is more difficult to see and to attack.
He’s not insane. He’s thrashing.
He doen’t have any valid excuse for US intervention.
He doesn’t have a plan for victory.
So he says whatever he can to try to justify his position.
The sad part is the Mainstream Lie Machine will echo this so strongly that a lot of people, including some conservatives (Rod Radosh) will believe him.
Gas 'em.
Our Secretary of Defense is a guy who became famous primarily for how eloquently he bashed the U.S. military. That’s what happens when the moronic American electorate re-elects a committed anti-American leftist to the White House. And I can’t believe there are so many idiots on the right (Hugh Hewitt comes to mind) who insist we go to war in order to save Obama’s credibility.
say what?
If we don’t help the brutes they become bigger brutes, did I read that correctly?

A far cry from anti-bullying programs implemented by the libs here at home...
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
I don’t usually agree with Susan Collins, but I heard a quote from her tonight that rang true to me. She asked, “What do we do after we attack Syria and then Assad uses chemical weapons again? Do we bomb again? That is the definition of “further entanglement.”” I think she makes a good point.
Besides which, I am not convinced at all that it was Assad who used the chemical weapons. He had more to lose than to gain by using them. It seems much more likely to me that it’s a frame job.
Correct on both points!
Kerry has not the sack nor the gumption to be anything other than a wuss. He “has been” exposed and certified a gold digging, widow hunting fool!
“Itll get worse if we dont intervene”
My gosh - I hope so!!
>>Hey hey JFK, how many kids have you killed today?<<
LBJ.
Kennedy was dead before Vietnam became a hot war.
JFK = John Forbes Kerry
Oh yeah, the other JFK.
