The U.S. attorney’s office in Springfield has been busy the past few years investigating a variety of fraud schemes involving state grants. Thirteen people have been charged so far, six who have pleaded guilty.
Two of them have ties to President Barack Obama. One is the daughter of his controversial former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Another was chief of staff to Obama’s longtime friend Eric E. Whitaker when Whitaker was Illinois’ public health chief.
In all, prosecutors are alleging a total of $16 million in fraud involving state health or commerce department grants and contracts.

All were African-American legislators from Chicago. Hendon and Howard have since resigned from office. Howard accepted a bureaucratic post, but resigned once the investigation developed. Hendon resigned suddenly once rumors about the investigation surfaced.
Obumbler will pardon them.
I’m surprised Eric Holder hasn’t intervened to quash the investigation. These are buddies, after all.

“-—two have ties to Obama-—” AW, c’mon. I got a cold case here that says they all have ties to the Kenyan. Seems like they were all country cousins of Odumbo and were all working on funding their golden parachutes. The guys awarding these grants need to be up on the same charges and we know dammwell that a bunch of this money was making it back to democrat political campaigns-——just waiting for the rest of the story.

Financial fraud in political higher ups in Illinois? Hard to believe.
Many of these state grants and so called “Member Initiatives” (grants awarded by individual legislators without much oversight) were a thinly disguised effort to utilize “not for profit organizations,” charities and religious organizations to act as political precinct organizations and maintain Democrat control of the legislature. Many of the so called charities were newly created for the solely purpose of cashing in on the available grant money. Pennies went for the actual social service purposes while big bucks were skimmed. All that was essential was that the votes were hustled on election day.

In my mind a certain phrase keeps circling around this story; “Chickens coming home to roost!” I wonder why?

With a little snooping, I bet it points directly at SEIU.
Another factoid that is interesting is that Illinois has fifty-nine State Senators and 118 Representatives, but the investigation shows that the most flagrant abuses uncovered thus far all occurred in minority districts.
