I’m pretty sure one party rule is the left’s ultimate objective, and if those that oppose them don’t find a way to unite against their forces, then the disaster of Obama’s reign will have no silver lining. Yes, I’m talking about kissing the House goodbye and forget about the Senate, and of course 4-8 years of Hillary The Horrible looming.

Federal agencies deliberately working to smother “dangerous” political thought - exceptionalism

An ever growing bureaucratic fungal mat smothering entrepreneurship and crushing all will to strive or achieve - exceptionalism

Cradle to grave indoctrination of the communist party line in schools and ever growing social agencies - exceptionalism

Elected officials getting fabulously wealthy by legislating financial advantages for themselves - exceptionalism

Companies and unions buying influence with elected officials who legislate financial advantages for all 3 - Exceptionalism

Pedophile congressmen getting away with sleeping with underage prostitutes - exceptionalism

30 million + illegal aliens overrunning the country unchecked for someone elses political and financial gain - exceptionalism

Billions in foreign aid to nations that hate us - exceptionalism

Billions spent on pipe dream green energy scams that produce no energy and drive up costs - exceptionalism

Elected officials openly contemptuous toward the people who elected them - exceptionalism

I saddens me to say but in many ways Putin is right. We are not the exceptional people we once were. With very few exceptions, all of our exceptionalism has either been outsourced overseas, dumbed down by our defective self loathing education system, or regulated into extinction. Our youth can boast of being the fastest texters and the dumbest asses in the developed world. We are quickly becoming an entitlement nation where it is better to take than to make. The truth hurts. God help us.

Agreed, this argument with Putin is a distraction from the fact that our exceptionalism is being crushed every single day.

I have a friend who grew up in the Soviet Union and she says the similarities are becoming alarming.

I prefer to think exceptionalism hasn't gone away but is dormant. If we survive these dark days and roll back oppressive regulations and dismantle some federal agencies, and importantly get back to the founding principle of Federalism, we'll have fountains of productivity spring back to life. Lots of money sitting on the sidelines and entrepreneurs and financial backers unwilling to take risks necessary to create jobs because the risks/costs are too high when known, and all else uncertain. That's a free market killer, and so not nearly enough new wealth is created. Instead, we borrow and print money and distribute it in the form of transfer payments- 2/3 of our economy!

Our energy industry is doing well but could be multiplied were it not for Obama's war on domestic energy production largely via the EPA. The unintended (or intended if you prefer) effects are unnecessary higher energy costs and a ripple effect downstream through the economy. Diminished purchasing power, and so on.

In short I think we still have the right stuff (not everyone, but when has that been true?) but are literally shackled by tyrants.

Did you not see the EXCEPTIONAL million plus bikers in DC this week. Half this country may be worthless but the American Conservatives are still exceptional and it is because of our Founding tenets. It is the way that we decided to live amongst one another and how we chose to govern ourselves that leads to American Exceptionalism.

Duh. So the person who wrote the letter did not even realize Putin himself concluded his letter with the meme that god created people equal ? Epic fail and more proof we are no longer an exceptional people. You cannot even use our own words against us, since we can no longer even remember them.

I see exceptionalism but it’s mostly in the middle aged and older. Exceptional youth are the exception. You dont have to be a mathematician to see where the trend is going.

The reason that you do not see many exceptional youth is that they have been in Iraq, Afghanistan and since the kenyan usurped his way into office... most of Africa. What is left behind are mostly putrid children of hippies and crystal worshipers that feel the world owes them everything. That is the truth.
