$6,000? That sounds crazy.

Sure, roll your own.
$1,500 for the AR.
$3,600 for the belt feed conversion (Valkyrie armament)
$400 for the Slidefire stock

$5,500. Or if you're not handy, buy their $6,000 unit that's already been assembled, tested and get a warranty.

Heavens! People will be killed!
What? You mean these SlideFire stocks have been available for years?
What are you saying? That people with AR15s all know about these and have for years?
That people who wanted one have already been dropping $350 and receiving them in the mail?
Well, obviously the press must be covering up all the thousands of dead children and police who have been assassinated with these death machines.
We need to protest the media!

WHERE ARE YOU HIDING THE BODIES?

It’s the belt feed capability that makes it expensive. The stocks are about $350.
Still it shouldn’t be $6000. That’s the sucker price. It shouldn’t be over $3000 for everything. Less on a good day.

Yes,it may spray like a hose. But if you cant change barrels or it isnt water cooled it would melt.

Even being tight with my .22LR for practice now.

Chuckle. I had wanted an AK for some time. I talked the boss lady into letting me get it based on the cost and availability of ammo for it compared to the AR and the 22 at the time.

At present it is still my primary practice rifle, though AR ammo locally has loosened up. Admittedly, also because it is easier to clean than the 22 or the AR.

$6k buys a lot of ammo. With that much practice you could be pretty darn lethal with the basic semi auto AR. More lethal than throwing out lead faster than you can change mags.

This thing sounds cool and all that at first, but it’s really worthless and pointless.

Or just buy a few 90 round drums for $108 each.

You're exactly right.

Better to put the money into a lot of ammo and a good scope, good trigger upgrade, then lots of practice.

Yeah, I glossed over the belt feed. Hard to believe it costs so much to pass a belt through an upper.

Vortec Sparc. Nice tactical sight. One of these (with practice) is better than any BS drum spraying lead.

2 MOA dot & Parallax free past 50 yd.; inside 50 yd. 1 in. error or less

Cost $200. How long will it take to spew $200 in ammo out of the $6k "tweak"?

OMG, that’s the S&W M&P 15 (Optics ready) that I purchased yesterday!

Beautiful to behold, isn’t it?

Agreed. They focused on the price, not understanding the technologies.

A semiautomatic rifle that 'sprays like a fire hose'

How useful! You can shoot the varmints and then spray down the blood and guts!

If you think $6 grand is expensive, wait until you find out how much you spend on 5.56 ammo when you spray it like a fire hose.

The important part of the posted pic is the logo in the upper left corner. I suggest anyone who understands that the NRA is not your friend when it comes to gun rights and legislation, investigate the NAGR, the fastest growing gun rights outfit in the USA.

The NRA has some positive influence, but obviously I am a member of the better organizations, too.

I’ve been wrasslin with the NRA’s positive influence since I was a junior NRA member in 1956.

...and where I am is this. The NRA has been around since 1871 for every egregious violation of “shall not be infringed” by the US Congress and in most cases with the blessing of the NRA. For that sorry history they deserve dues from four million Americans? Let’s not even address the endorsement of democrats in this day and age when democrats are the party of anti second amendment.

They are the 800 lb gorilla, however, and for the occasional time they have been wrong (and VERY wrong they have been!) they are largely what keeps us from being Great Britain, as far as firearms go.

Something just occurred to me: The left has discovered that co-opting parties is workable. They have completely neutered the Republican establishment, for example. It occurs to me that they could send forth true antigunners to be in the leadership at the NRA... totally spoiling this organization. At some point I then would expect the NRA to endorse a full-on handgun ban. Watch for this, and support the other organizations (as I do).
