Yeah, I was mistaken.

Thanks for the correction, Kaslin.

Yes, he was called the “Hammer”. The liberals hated him because he was tough

“...Give him a baseball bat, free hands and let him loose in the House....”

Running Amok on the Dem side of the aisle, of course... and maybe take a few RINOs in the process as well..

Would be quite the spectacle... Pass the Popcorn!

***Angela Corey, the corrupt Florida state's attorney in the Trayvon case***

Fast track to high public office... The fault really starts with Gov. Scott for being a coward and caving into pressure to appoint this partisan hack as prosecutor... notice how suppression of evidence was faulted to underlings, unlike Nifong in the Duke lacrosse case.

As far as Delay: mission accomplished - Delay removed from Washington... now he can write his memoirs and sit at the plantation house and drink mint julips... that sort of thing. NUTS! {:^[

He was a great whip; thus the reason they got rid of him. I’d love to see him make a return. Won’t happen but it would be quite the tribute if Boner quit and the house elected Delay as speaker. Head explosions could be seen/heard everywhere. I can dream. LOL

Yes indeed, I know that, and think Tom Delay would be AWESOME...

"Look at a political map of the country, it’s always blue around the state capitols."

Austin has the double whammy of being capitol and the seat of The University of Texas - Austin. Two progressive venues.

If you want to make good bank, get a job of waitstaff at any of the nice restaurants around the capitol. You'll make a fortune - its where the politicians and lobbyists meet.

The money flows.......good and expensive meals - large tips.

Where are all those ‘holy than thou’ freepers that spewed their ridicule at and over Tom Delay. The problem is within. I remember when Tom tried to rescue Terri Schivo (misspelled last name), the haughty know it alls that ridiculed Tom Delay over a county judge pronouncing a death sentence on an innocent woman. Now they have earned ObamaDeathCare panels. The problem is within.

Prayers answered, down with the narcissists liberals.

I travel to Austin often. During the Bush years, it was the only place in Texas that I saw bumperstickers with Bush’s name attached to words worse than found on bathroom walls. Lovely city. Residents not. We opted for Hill Country as our residence instead.

Even though DeLay has shade, it would have been a night and day difference had he been leading the House.

You wouldn’t have all the backstabbing by the GOP, especially in the press. I think he would have held the line.

“Follow the money. Money is concentrated in state capitals (as well as Washington, D.C.) Money corrupts. That’s how you get human cesspools like Austin.”

"Note that the Speaker of the House does not have to be a sitting member of Congress. DeLay could be in by next week."

------------------------------------>

That's what I thought but wasn't sure.

His bags should already be packed as "Mr. DeLay goes to Washington".

“...if Boner quit and the house elected Delay as speaker. Head explosions could be seen/heard everywhere. ...”

Can you imagine the hilarity that would ensue?? Sputtering, righteous indignation from people with ZERO moral authority and ethics...

Tingles Matthews, Rachel Madcow and all the rest would be having coronaries...

Hell, you wouldn’t want to stand within ten feet of Matthews - you’d be covered in flying specks o’ spittle and froth... (yeah, Good imagery, I know...)

It would be great if he ran again and won. He would be very effective as speaker

I'm glad for this overturn, except it should have been overturned a month after the verdict was in.

We could definitely get some things accomplished with DeLay back.

I seem to recall him being instrumental in keeping Clinton’s “Assault Weapon” ban sunsetted and NOT being able to be brought back up.

Something to the effect of “it’ll never see the light of day as long as I’m here...”

I may be wrong, but anyone? Does that ring a bell?

Damn... it seems like a lifetime ago already.

Jim Mattox was AG in Texas in the early 90s and ran against Ann Richards. Mattox’s aid told me that Jim said “I should be hearing from Ronnie Earle anytime now. Ann Richard’s first campaign volley is to always have Ronnie Earl indict her opponent.”
