Well, we passed a budget, if they want to shut the government down, the it’s up to them.
It’s a good thing. A few weeks ago I didn’t think Boner was going to allow it. I’d say he thinks he’s safe from losing his place on the presidential golf team because he knows/believes the Senate will peel the healthcare elements out of the budget and send it back to the House. He’s counting on Cruz not to be able to rally enough votes. He’s probably right, but we shall see soon enough. If nothing else, it will be another chance to get a good look at Ted Cruz, and to affirmitavely identify all the Rino senators who need primarying. Will Cruz lead a filibuster? I’m thinking he will.
I heard on the radio that 41 Senate votes are needed to avoid cloture. If that’s true, can someone explain the significance of that?
