John Cornyn about an hour ago I intend to support the House bill that defunds Obamacare and will vote against a bill that funds it.

I emailed him this morning and told him that a vote for cloture on any bill where amendment to restore funding was even a possibility was a vote for ObamaCare and that he then owned it.

I think he needs to hear that quite a bit the next few days to ensure it sinks in.

I called the Senator's office this morning and got the good news in person.

His spokescritter said that John was always and forever against funding ObozoCare and that the media reports about him sitting on the fence were totally wrong.

I told the mouth peace that if John were a little more like Ted Cruz on his positions then his constituents would be far less likely to believe the newsers on these types of reports.

Cornyn is scared of us right now it sounds like, he doesn’t want to vote for the house bill at all.

Reid can’t remove defunding proceedures, he has to ADD funding.

As it stands they are not there. The can’t remove somethign that is not there, he has to add it. From what I understand that is very different process

Until every one of these nincompoop senators firmly declares that they will vote NO ON CLOTURE, we have no real idea where they stand.

That is the Cruz/Lee strategy, and at the petition website it says they must vote that way on cloture, to deny Harry Reid the ability to change the CR with only 51 votes. They must make it clear by refusing to invoke cloture that they won’t allow Reid to proceed short of 60 votes to do so.

Go to the website

if anyone is confused.

Cornyn must vote no on cloture or else this is a trick!

See post #28. It’s all about voting no on cloture. Every Republican must do that. If they don’t, they are merely trying to trick us.

He already has a primary challenger, Dwayne Stovall.

If Cornyn votes to defund Obamacare and doesn't do anything stupid, I don't expect him to face a serious primary challenge.

Considering the generally high standards of their profession ... I'd say that it's entirely possible.

RE :”Until every one of these nincompoop senators firmly declares that they will vote NO ON CLOTURE, we have no real idea where they stand.”

That is what I was getting at.

Having to kill the House CR to keep Reid from modifying it allows them to vote yes when it only takes 41 to stop it and vote NO when it takes 51 after saying what Cornyn is.

After that it goes to Bohner.

Don’t give any kudos to cornyn yet. Wait to see how he votes.

We have been tricked before by RINO-es.

I take in-coming calls at my office, so could only call Cornyn's line that allows you to leave a message.

The mailbox was full :)

I’m sorry to be slow, but can you explain in more detail the whole cloture thing? I read the info at the link, but it still wasn’t very clear to me what voting NO on cloture actually does. I’m not an expert on all the tricky procedures.

If Cornyn doesn’t vote to defund Obamacare, he will face a primary challenge in his next election. And he will most likely lose.

**************

Dec. 9, 2013 is the filing deadline for a primary challenger to come forth. The Primary will be in March 2014 so anyone trying to put the money and organization together doesn’t have a long time to do so.
