I'm a big Cruz fan but I'm a bit mystified by his strategy here. What does delay accomplish?

A couple of things. First by his effort to dramatically draw attention to the evils of obamacare with this marathon exegesis of the bill, he is raising national awareness of what is at stake. The fact that the ruling class has exempted itself is akin to rubbing our nose in it. Second, he is setting up the republicans (at least those who stand with John Q. Citizen, the victim of obamacare) with a winning political issue for the midterms. And he is also either setting up (or derailing) his presidential campaign.

It hangs this big turd around the appropriate necks.

I agree.

I’m in fact not 100% on Cruz’ side on this, we are far too much in the fault-finding and not enough on raising our own plan in opposition.

But he’s making a very valid point. And he’s getting massive publicity.

I like he’s taken such a public stand.

Oh, there's no derailing going on here. Do you know how many people now know the name "Ted Cruz" that never heard of him before? Do you know how many people want a leader with the courage of his convictions?
