Washington (CNN) -- In a congressional version of hot potato, the Senate on Friday passed a short-term spending plan that would prevent a looming government shutdown and sent it to the House for a weekend showdown between Republican tea party conservatives and their more moderate party leaders.

I thought there are 46 Republican Senators.
Who were the other two Republicans who did not vote and why?
Cry like a little Boehner?
What should the House do ? Adjourn and go home. Tell Zero to eat it.
What they should do is just table the resolution. Just tell the Senate to reconsider the bill they were sent.
What should they do? Fight.
What will they do? Surrender.
The House should adjourn and tell the Senate they have a House-originated funding bill they can pass and send to Obama. Let the arrogant Senate headed by Dingy sweat it out.
Article says Flake and Hatch were out of town.
That would be the best thing to do. Even if only for a week or a few days. There is no need for the urgency being portrayed by media.
And, it would delay 0deathcare.
The House did send a bill funding the government to the Senate. The Senate rejected said government funding.
Sux to be a dem.
The House should slooooooooow down.
House needs to either keep clause to defund Obamacare or fund it for $1.00.
Then they need to either defund IRS or cut funding in half.
That way Dems have to fight on two fronts, Obamacare and IRS and good luck trying to defend more cash to the IRS.
Reason House gives to media for these actions, they won’t be bullied by the Senate into straddling the American people with Obamacare. (Americans hate bullies and we need to get that tag on Dems asap because that’s exactly what they are.)
Send the same exact bill back every time.
Hannity says the House will send it back with the provision that obamacare is delayed for one year. I don’t know about that. That may even be advantageous for the Rats.
Up the ante. Slice a few hundred billion from the CR, including all funding for Planned Parenthood, and send it back sans Obamacare.
I think you meant "saddling."
But unfortunately, "straddling" works, too.
New tagline...
The House needs tyo start sending CR’s to the senate to fund various departments and programs one at a time. Start with Defense and Social Security. Let Harry Reid and obama say no to that.
I agree that it helps the dems. by preventing the populace from experiencing the horror that is 0bamacare.
Either send the Senate the same thing to reconsider or send individual funding bills for the bits of government they want to operate.
