Yeah, I’m looking at the this new proposal to delay it for a year and can see some advantages.
- They can send it to the senate with little time to spare, so Reid is under more pressure
- They can say they have compromised from their original position, they’ve come half way, now the Democrats have to do their bit, which is good optics.
- This idea already has the support of Joe Manchin, a well-known Democrat, so will look less partisan.
- Obama can be tarred for his pledge to never negotiate, while he is texting the terrorists in Iran.
- Like you say, if it is delayed, the wave will be in our direction, and we’ll have time to hammer the law all the way up until 2014.
I don’t know about in-depth analysis, but delaying it for a year would give them a chance to fix all the technical glitches that are making it unworkable at the moment.
Also, remember the extremely short attention span of the low-information voter. There will be many crises, both foreign and domestic, to agitate the media and the masses between now and a year from now.
It would be OK if we spent all our energy on fighting it (I believe there is an important court case coming up), but chances are we won’t. Too easy to just relax when it’s not looming right over us.
So, I guess it is better not letting them get more OPM.
Question--do they get the subsidy and can they pay the fine and keep the excess? Because, you know, that will be what the vast majority of the "cigarettes, lottery ticket, drugs and beer" class will do.

I don’t think one month left in a 2014 campaign will be enough for Zerocare to hurt a lot of voters and get them to dump the Dems for a Repub. A Six months delay and then the hurt will be felt. I prefer to just kill it. Let the Dems and Rinos in the Senate own it along with Zero!

There is no way the Reps can defund or repeal Obamacare now. However, they can firmly affix blame for the diaster once again right before full implementation.
My information was gleaned by listening to Limbaugh one afternoon. 70%, and we’re paying for it. I’ve emailed both the Speakers Office and the Senate Minority Leader’s Office and neither have responded to my request for confirmation or if they will exempt themselves and their staff from the 70% subsidies. Sooooo......there you have it.

It can't be fixed. It denies market forces and the desire for immediate care.
If it's delayed the Pubs have a year to campaign on their 200 page solution and to focus on how govt/congress is excluded as well as friends of the Rats.
Even if the Pubs win the Senate in 2014 you can bet obama will never sign a repeal. It needs to be delayed until we can win back the POTUS and Congress.
In that video I posted with Bachmann talking to Greta, she said at the very beginning of the interview that she believes the Democrats secretly hope this gets delayed because it is such a train wreck.
You are absolutely right. Those nonessential LIV who work for the government and vote for Dems will be hurt the most. Make them stay home without pay for a few weeks. Gees the Fed Gov might work better for once!

Obama will take this deal because it affirms Obamacare with a delay, which it needs anyway because they are not ready.
Americans by and large only make a stink when they feel the pain. Impliment it now, fully. Every traffic stop will include an inquiry about your compulsery health insurance. Let the IRS go from house to house in full body armor making sure everyone is signed up.
