“The officers arrived shortly thereafter, and while clearing the building, one of their guns discharged, police said.”

The gun didn’t just ‘discharge’. Some dumb ass fired it.

A police officer's gun accidentally discharged

That must be a special gun only issued to LEO's...that can discharge all by themselves...

After all LEO's are the pros when handling guns ...right ?

In all the years have I have owned guns, never once did I come home and found one of them had discharged accidentally...

A professional mishandled a firearm? I'm surprised.

gun accidentally discharged

Impossible. Some action was taken by someone, not the gun.

There are no accidental discharges, only negligent ones

“...officer’s gun accidentally discharged...”

Take it back to the manufacturer because it is defective...or perhaps correctly report that a police officer accidentally discharged his gun.

Is it too much to ask that journalists report the news instead of editorializing it?

And what does this say to the gun grabbers that want only police and military to possess firearms? I suppose the response will sound something like chirping crickets.
